Help Me Choose From These 3 Subs..
Hey guys,
Well I've narrowed my search down to three subs. First off, I have an Alpine MRP-M500 500WRMS @ 2OHM and 300WRMS @ 4 OHM. So I'm guessing the best choice would be a dual 4OHM sub so I can run it at 2OHM.
Here are my choices.
Alpine Type-R: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SWR1...2D.html?tp=111
Not the best out there, but it has a 200-500RMS range, so I would have just the right amount of power.
RE Audio SE10D4: Click
Said to be an awesome sub, but it's 600W RMS.
and finally,
FiSSD10 : Click
Another awesome sub, but I don't know if I have the power.
If you guys could help me out, that would be great. Looking at the power ratings though, i think I might need to go Type-R.

Worst sub of the poll, but you pick it without having experience with the other two? GTFO.
I say Fi Q10, not SSD10. I'll vote for the SSD10 in the poll to offset the skew of the stupid Best Buy shoppers that pick the only brand they know.

I love my type r. I have it in a sealed box with a 300 watt amp and it sounds great. Its got good response and it is balanced with the rest of my system and doesn't rape your ears but can still hit hard when cranked up

Well, if we run the whole board based on "dragonrage" rules then almost nobody should be able to post. Next time you try to help someone figure out which headers to buy (kooks, slp, pacesetter, etc.) you have better had all of them on your car or you cannot reply.
BTW, I have owned an 10" Alpine Type R (and ONLY an Alpine Type R) for the last year and it sounds great, especially when you can pick them up on ebay around $100.

ive had both the type R and now I have the RE SE and the RE is better in every aspect. It thumps harder and just sounds soo much cleaner on every note no matter what kind of music. obviously the FiSSD10 is the best of the 3 but takes alot of power to sound good and is very expensive.

Subwoofers have a measurable performance difference, but polls like this always fail because audio noobs like you come in and say "ooh, I have this one, so I will pick it in the poll," when the poll was NOT titled, "Which subwoofer do you own?" Have you ever heard a Fi or RE subwoofer? I've heard all of the above. (Well, actually, I haven't heard the SSD, but I have heard, and own, a Q. I have, however, read a lot about SSD vs. Q and have modeled them, and the Q is far better, at least for us.)
The Alpine is the worst subwoofer here, both sound quality and excursion wise. Any Fi subwoofer and any RE subwoofer will beat a Type-R of the same size, bar none, assuming they are all in a properly sized box.

Lol...
Once again, I've decided to go with an Fi sub. I understand some of you may love Type-R's. I've been in a 300C with two 12" type-r's and they were crazy. However, there are other brands that outperform them, and that's the route I'm going to go.

I'd definately get the Fi's. My friend had 2 Fi 12's in his truck and they SLAMMED. I think he hit 145DB with them on a Power1000. Then he went to a Power1000 on each and it was unreal. I have Inifinity Kappa Perfect10s I'm installing right now and they sounded pretty damn good in a ported box (got them from the guy with the 2 Fi's) on just a Rockford 550w 2 chanel amp. I can't remember the exact model, but I got both the amp and subs from him and in his truck, they hit damn hard.
