Default Radio wont turn off

I have a off and on problem. I was wondering if some may be able to shine some light on it.
When I open my door the radio will not turn off sometimes (like every other time) the dome light comes on all the time but the radio still plays with the door open and the key out. I looked for a door switch to see if that may be the problem, but I dont see one. Any help or a place to start looking would be great.
Thanks.

this happened to me and i believe it was a speaker wire that i had accidentally screwed a screw through and grounded out a wire that ran down the plastic trim piece that ran down the edge of the carpet. i dont know if someone else can explain what exactly happened there, but maybe thats a start for you if maybe you installed some aftermarket speakers or something.

The door switch is attached to the latch mechanism. It isn't the pin in the door jamb style that you see on older cars.

Does the radio shut off when the other door is opened? If so, it's probably the switch. If not, it could be a problem with the BCM.

The radio doesnt turn off every now and again. All other body functions seem to work fine.

That doesn't answer the question... when the radio fails to turn off after opening the driver's door, does opening the other door make it turn off?

It is likely that the driver's door switch is the source of the problem. Since it's intermittent, it might be that the switch is merely gummed up with road grime. Using a spray cleaner (or even WD40) to remove some of the buildup might solve the problem.
