head unit and speaker replacement=no bass
i installed a jvc kd-r600 head unit and replaced my stock speakers with the premium upgrade from kee audio. i expected a better than stock sound. the highs seem to be okay but i expected that 6" subs to deliver more bass than the stock speakers.
i kind of remember reading somewhere that if you do the premium upgrade from kee audio, then you should wire them to a new amp...is that true? anybody have that thread?

The premium is designed for a new amp, but did Ian sent you the CDT or Bazookas for the sails? The bazookas have some decent bass. The CDT as offered in the premium package are more for mid bass and not real low's.

Hit me with a PM and we can talk. He upgraded mine to the bazookas which is fine but I am ripping everything out and adding all aftermarket. I already have his CDT 10" SUB so I don't have to have real low in the sails. How long have you had the CDT's? Have you double checked the speakers are connected correctly. The CDT's still go to 50hz which should will give you some bass.
Once I got them I called Ian and asked what was up. He stated that he switches the CDT's for Bazookas for Trans am unless the customer says they want the CDT mid mass. YMMV

If you used the stock wiring which I assume you did without using a new amp. Then according to Whitebird the stock wiring has the filters installed in line. I noticed with the bazookas installed via stock wire and amp they respond with the 40hz section of the EQ. Since that is lower than the CDT mid bass that would be your no bass.

ian has been back and forth emailing with me. he has good customer service. apparently i should have done more research before i assumed "premium" meant better for all applications.
bottom line= if you have no plans to install aftermarket amp then get the bazookas for the sail panels.
