So last year I purchased a Bit viper shorty antenna. I put it aside for a while.... When I went to install, the threaded portion on my stock antenna (1994 Camaro Z28.) Was too big for the new shorty. I emailed bitviper..he said I might have a non stock antenna on my car. I had a couple of shorty antennas laying around..... And I put on what I thought was the bitviper one and it fit. I was mistaken.... As I just found my bitviper piece.
So, I unthread my stock mast, and tried to put my bitviper one on.... And its too small. Am I retarded here? I'll post pics today of the issue.

Alright, here are some pictures. The first pic is my stock antenna. The second is the Bitviper Shorty mast. The Third is teh stock antenna stud with the stock mast taken off. The stud is too big to thread into the Bitviper antenna.

Am I doing something wrong?

I had to go find an antenna mast off of a 97+ car to attach an ebay special shorty to my car, also a 94 Z.

Am I missing something here? It seems like some of the other pictures on another threads had people taking off that circular hut on the top of the antenna mount.... But I can't be certain. Anybody have an Idea?

100 percent certian. It was still in the package it was sent in. It was strange.though, it was just a manila envelope, no letter like the others I've seen people get.... and it was just wrapped in bubble wrap. (Inside the envelope)

Yep, bought directly from him, brand new. I chatted with Bitviper via e-mail on 8-9-13 asking if it was supposed to be a one piece or two, he said its one piece. He said that it should fit my car, and that i might not have a stock antenna. It looks stock to me... Here is another pic, this is the threaded end of the Bitviper antenna. There was nothing else in the package at all.

Guitar.. yep.. changed the design a while back...

Kevin.. Thanks for the email..

BTW what ever you put on.. you'll need to wire brush that rust off to get the max performance.

I got no words..(the mods would rightfully have fits) except check your email

no problem man! I'm going to head to the JY on this coming Saturday, and see if I can find an antenna on a Camaro to compare it to. I'd like to use it still if I can. I'll keep the post here updated, and thanks for the E-mail Bitviper! I'm DEFINITELY going to wire wheel off the rust, I ahve a nice brass brush on my dremel i can use for that.

The stock antenna on my car was trashed so i took it off and installed a new one from Metra. I think it was technically a "roof mount" but it was the perfect angle for my car. It is also "powered" so I'm assuming it gets better reception?? It looks a lot like the ones you have posted.

I have it figured out. My 1994 has the "1st design" antenna. This has an 8 mm stud for the antenna. The Second design has a 6mm stud and no screw on washer. This is the design that works with the bit viper antenna. I'll hit the junk yard on Saturday to find the right antenna base.

I have some pictures , the first three are of the old antenna design, the last tow are of the "new" or "second" design that you need to mount the Bit Viper antenna.
