KICKER CompVR or L7?
I know that amps have a LOT to do with bass....but what would hit harder? 2-10" Kicker L7's with a recommended watt amp? or 2-12" Kicker CompVR's with a recommended watt amp? I heard L7's and they hit HARD but they are pretty pricy...and i have my eye on 2 compvr's for about the price of 1 L7 and they are COMP for competition....so I was just wondering how much difference there would be between the two..................?

I would say the L7's. My friend had a 88 formula with 1 10inch L7 with a PP amp and a box built for that speaker, for that car, and for that amp. And WOW. Wasn't the best sound quality ive ever heard(still good though) but was one of the loudest and hardest hitting single 10 setup ive ever heard. Every person who heard it said you must have 2 really good 12's back there.. hehe, wrong.

unlike everyone else, i prefer my sub not to sound like *** while getting loud, i'd go 2 comp vr 12's before the L7 10's......Comp Vr's can get just as loud as the L7's, you just have to know what you're doing. i'd go sealed if i was you, ported box for an L7 will be much bigger than a sealed box for a comp vr 12. and i highly doubt 2 10" L7's have run anyone out of there vehicle. personally, i'd say go with a single alpine type r 12 ported or couple of 10's......they are damn nice subs and they sound good and get loud, not just get loud.

also, i used to own 2 DEI Studio 12's, they have a low Fs, so they get really low sealed but have great sound quality. they are louder than comp vr's and my single 12 ported smoked an L7 on a mic. plus they can be picked up for about 150 each at a shop or around 110 shipped on the net. they will take all of 500rms rating no problem, i had 1200 on mine for over 8 months before i cooked it.
