Default Finally got my Sirius installed!

I was supposed to meet up with one of my female friends today to have some speakers installed in her car, but unfortunately, her car was still in a the shop with overheating problems. So I used that time I was gonna spend with her to go to the next Sound Advice in my area and had Sirius Radio added to my car. My system so far consists of an Alpine CDA-9855 head unit, MB Quart front and rear components, and 2 Kicker Pro 10"s. The rears and subs are powered by my old MTX 4320, the fronts get their power from the head unit.

The antenna was mounted on the dashboard, as far forward towards the windshield as possible, and so far it works great. To my ears, the sound quality is not quite CD quality, I expected a little better, but besides that I am very happy with it. Just knowing that I now have endless hours of entertainment on board, plus the CDA-9855's ability to play MP3's make for more music than anyone could imagine to listen to.

With this, my car is what I consider a nice mix of everything (see sig for performance mods).

Today I was looking around my DirecTV channel guide....and only today did I find out that I get XM radio on my satellite. Grrrrrrrr!

But I still need the tunes in my car, so that's what counts.

it also sounds like you have an awesome setup.. i am in love with that head unit, and will pick it up very soon, once i can find an excuse to lose mine

Thanks man!

Yes, I love my new head unit. My reason for ditching my old one was that it couldn't play MP3's. There was nothing wrong with it, it was an Alpine 7879, top of the line 3 years ago. I gave it to one of my female friends, she was happy

Very cool, I can't wait to get my system in the car. This monsoon system is killing me. It was fine but now it skips all the time and sometimes it makes a beeping sound.. I still haven't figured out where it's picking up the beep sound from.

The Sirius tuner can't be seen. It's mounted underneath the dashboard, in other words they took the top of the dash out and mounted it somewhere in there. I have no idea where it is, but I can't see it, so that's all that counts I'll take a picture of the dash later on and post it. But yes, my head unit did need the tuner.

Default hair nation rocks!!!!!!!!!!

ol' skool rocker here. i'm actually into all styles of music and i've had my sirius for a little over a month now and it's true, i rarely go back to "terrestrial" radio anymore, especially since stern's gone completely off my local "howard" station.

another great thing is with my alpine iva-d900 monitor, the sirius/alpine module allows all station/artist/song title info to show up on the screen.

i tried the antenna originally on the dash, but it wanted to "acquire" the signal about every other song, so i relocated it centered on the top of the back hatch glass and it's pretty much flawless now. an installer friend of mine said it could be due to the steep slant of the windshield "reflecting" the signal away from the antenna

anyways, just waiting for january 9!!!!!!

Mine seems fine on the dash, however, at that location it only works sometimes in the garage, but oh well, it's on the road where it counts, and it's fine there so far.
