Default Need help with speaker P/N

Hello, Im trying to replace the front door panel speakers on my formula, the part numbers on them are 16229121, I think GM has a new part number for there replacement because I can't find anything with this part number. Can anyone help me out. Also the system is a non-monsoon system.
Thanks

I can give you the correct part numbers if you post your stereo option code from the door sticker. It will be a three character code starting with either W5 or UW.

Aftermarket speakers will drop right in... you'll be able to get a good set of aftermarkets for a tiny little bit of extra work and little if any extra money.

Don't be concerned about compatibility if you have a normal setup. Any aftermarket speaker will sound better and you have a straightforward two wire / 4 ohm industry standard arrangement.

Especially if you are replacing the pair... just go with aftermarkets.

Unless the OEM's are like $10 or something (which I doubt). You'll probably puke when you see the factory speaker price.

Reviving an old post. I did a search for my speaker number and came up with this post. Does anyone know if there is a new part number for these speakers?

The speakers in question are the front door midrange speakers for my 97 Trans Am with Monsoon (RPO code W55). I would also love to know the part number for the subs in the sail panels. When I got the car, the subs were gone and replaced with some aftermarket speakers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
