Well dual is junky but I had a dual Headunit in my oldsmobile for over 2 years and had very few problems with it. After a while it seemed to be having trouble reading burned CDs but if your on a budget then its the best bang for the buck but otherwise I would spend a little more on a pioneer or alpine or similar head unit. But I dont see anything wrong with the Xplod speakers if your on a budget. It all depends on how picky you are

im on a VERY tight budget at the moment...this is just something to get me through the next 5 or so months....and my monsoon H/U just took a crap....and blew out my speakers...which is pissing me off to no extent....so i guess in short im looking for a cheap but livable repalcement...again only short lived...down the road i want focal speakers and an alpine H/U....

what type of budget? cause if you can afford 99 for a radio, then get the pioneer, or at least a sony... the duals usually seem to have problems reading cds and skipping after about 2 months.... (i have replaced several of these units since best buy started carrying them)
on a personal note, I usually don't trust any cd player that comes shipped with packing screws to keep the lens and tray stable..... (good idea in theory, but usually only done when the unit can't handle the abuse of shipping)

Best Buy prices:
Pioneer DEH-1700 : 99.99
Dash kit: 18.49
Wiring Harness: 18.49
Antenna adaptor: 12.49
Install: 49.99
Materials fee: 5.00
total: 204.45 plus taxes....
I recommend either waiting for a free install special, or buy a radio priced 129.99 or higher from crutchfield (comes with install parts for free that way) and then either install it yourself, or pay a shop 50 to install it for you...
that's what I would suggest... just don't go dual.

Its not cheaper if it breaks and you wind up buying it again.

70 for installation is rediculous IMO. best buy and i think even circuit city install for free if the deck is like, over 99 bucks. but honestly you could install it yourself...its VERY easy

Why not replace just the stock speakers for now? There crappier than the rest of the system. And with a stealth box, decent amp and sub, you'll have a good setup and keep the stock look of your interior.

ok guys....you read me wrong...lol the deck is 170 and install is FREE ...the parts (ie. wire connectors, attenna connector and face kit) are what the 45 is for...no 70...45 for parts...free install...thats why im having cartoys install it ...and waiting to save up is out of the ?...i NEED music in my car when i drive or i go crazy...and i HATE to have to wear headphones (which is illegal)...and my deck isnt working...thats why im goinng cheaper right now...dont mean to sound like an ***...just telling the facts....
