Default Amp location

I am wondering where the best place to mount my amp is. I want it to not be seen through the windows. It is a large 4 channel amp.

How big? I've got my two-channel in the spare tire area (tire out).

As soon as I pick up either another 2-ch or a 4-ch (depending on if I go component or not), I'll be mounting them on the back wall of the hatch. Won't interfere with T-tops or storage space much there

i have mine on the subthump amp rack on the back wall. even without the flap, you cant see them through the windows.

I have the extended Sub Thump amp rack...The only thing is the amp lights reflect in the hatch and it is very distracting at night....

This was before I cleaned up the wires. and put the rest of the interior back in.

It's called a stealth enclosure or stealth box. There are a few companies that make them or you can have one made...either way they work very well and keep your trunk space.

Mine are Sub Thump but they no longer carry the passenger side stealth sub box. You lose your spare putting an enclosure on that side but my sidewalls are so stiff my tires don't really go flat even with almost no air (I had this happen). I have 2 of these both with 10" JL sub 10W3 V2 subs.

JL Audio makes a nice stealth sub enclosure but it's big $$.

Here is another pic of the Subthump Extended Amp Rack with 2 Amps and a CD Changer.

I have no issues with TTop storage and both boxes are made my Subthump.

I made my own rack, it's pretty much a copy of a subthump extended rack except it's made of birch plywood instead of MDF which IMO is a little too weak for amp mounting. I used to have a much larger amp mounted on it along with a passenger stealthbox but I've toned it down a bit.

I put mine in the spare tire area as well. I have an Alpine F250, which is enough for my needs. Oh and I have a self powered MTX stealth sub.

Peace,
Craig.
