Default car alarm help

I just bought a 2002 T/A. The dealer didnt have a keyless entry so everytime I open the door with the key the alarm goes off until I start it. I am going to get a keyless entry again for it. Will that solve the problem or is it deeper? Also it may be a few weeks before I get the chance to get it. Can I disable it anyway until then?

Yes, the new remote should solve the problem - just program to match to the car.

In the meantime, you can reprogram the alarm using the instructions in your owner's manual and posted here.

thanks for the link...which code would that fall under though? There are a few that I could see it being but I am new to the T/A world so it is probably only one.
This keyless entry outta work shouldnt it? Did they make different ones or is this the only one?

To disable the alarm, set the "Theft Deterrent Arming Method" to mode 1 - off.

No, that's the wrong remote and it's way overpriced (I have no idea how that seller gets away with selling the wrong part for that much). The correct remote has four buttons and the part number 16245100 on the back (it may have -29 added to the end of the part number). Do a search on eBay for that part number - I found one with a "buy it now" price of $9.50.

No you can't but the theft deterrent arming method doesn't use the remote.

O Ok thanks a bunch man. I am gonna keep my eye out on ebay. I just read the theft deterrent verification and just assumed thats what you were talking about. Just went out and did it and it was super easy. I figured if you took the fuse out for the radio all my presets would be lost but they werent...Thanks a lot I appreciate it. I dont really like alarms but once I get my remote I will probably rearm it....is it hard to program the new remotes?
