Default Sub Box Install Question

im getting 2 12" jl subs and i was wondering if i should just place the box in the back or screw it down with a piece of wood under the carpet

I would say get a box that fit's right in the back. Like i do, check my thread "system intalled w/ pics". that box fit perfect.

I would only bolt it down if you want to include them in your insurance contract. Otherwise, you should just lay it in there, so you can pull it out at the track.

i would do that but i take off my ttops too much.
can anyone think of a way to bolt them down but be able to unbolt it semi-easy

doesnt subthump have a box where you can still put your ttops away back there??

also is a 400 watt amo good enough for 2 jl 12 w1's

yea the trans am one is really nice but i dont think i want to spent 333 dollars on it just to store the ttops.

400 Watt Amp for 2 JL 12's??? Ask KEEAUDIO, he can help you out with this question. Personally, i dont think it would be good enough. Well not to get a good thump out of the Subs.

I'm not sure if you guys are talking about the same thing, but KEE offers a box that allows you to continue using the lid storage area. Here's his custom solution. At $109 that's far from $333, unless that latter number included the sub.

the 333 one is from subthump.com and it looks badass bc it showed the trans am symbol across the back

W1 recommended power is 150watts rms each woofer. So 400 will be fine. Just dont crank the amp all the way up.
