Security Light Stays on...Update
Ok, so many of you may have read my security light issue located in this thread...
https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-stereo-electronics/880668-security-light-came.html
And then airbag issue in this thread.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-stereo-electronics/882812-great-now-my-airbag-light.html
So, when the airbag light was coming on, I just bought a new airbag coil wich was about $150 (Local GM parts hookup). When I went in I thought I might as well replace the ignition cylinder key lock with a non gm cylinder since it already has a remote start and the vat is bypassed. When i took the factory out, one of the wires had sheared off and I just kinda jerry rigged the wiring together. Well after I had to re-do the airbag coil I thought "well, I might as well replace the cylinder lock, so I shouldnt have to be back into steering wheel in quite some time fixing a wire that may have come loose due to a half-*** repair job". Soooo.. Fast forward. I replaced the key cylinder, replaced air bag coil. Everything works like a champ, but the security light stays on now. I can manually start it (I couldnt before, without remote starting) but the light stays on. Airbag light does not come on at all, by the way. So, does this tell me I need to check the resistance on my old key and put ina resistor inline somewhere on the wire of the new cylinder? The security light is annoying. Thanks for all your comments.

if you can remote start it that means that it's already bypassed w/ a resister otherwise you wouldnt be able to start it. Im having a similar issue I found a fix somewhere for it, but I think it's more vats related (as in module being bad) than anything else... if I find hte post (via search) ill post it up for ya
