Default 1995 Mitsubishi 3000 GT runs/ HUGE disapointment!!!

THis is what the car looks like!

http://www.digi-go.biz/vqg1aaa/dsc_0001.jpg

My friend just purchased a 1995 mitsu 3000 GT w/ 136k miles Friday and came over to show it off on Saturday and tossed the keys to me Its pretty quick! Tires suck and I couldnt get traction worth **** but still wanted to go out and toy with some other rides anyway
Within the first 5 minutes of being on the road I ran into 1 lowered 2000-2004 civic with that dark electric blue color going the other way, Then I run up on a 5.7L GTO, tried to get him to play(I would have gotten dusted) but that was a no-go, and then 3 seconds after that ran into a buddy of mine that has a Black stage2 S.R.T.4 Well the second that I get up to the door of the S.R.T I start hearing this lowed clicking sound so we pull over before I can even say whats up to my friiend and pop the hood! Turned out to be the timing belt needed to be replaced and he picks it up today I WAS SOOOO PISSED!!!

I think it was n/a! It didnt feel like a mid 13 sec car and it didnt have any VR-4 badges.... It would have gotten spanked on all the cars eccept maybe the Civic, but who know? The civic may have been modded and smoked us too... And yes, I do like the devils...

Good job blowing up his car.

Edit: And I think those are notorious for timing belt issues.

Thats an SL, DOHC but still N/A. Back when it was new, it might have put out 220hp. Minivans will beat that thing. The TT models are usually underestimated, most of them are really ragged out because they're cheap and kids love em, but in good shape they are a decent race for a stock LS1, especially from a dig.

Also, the 6G72 is an interference motor. If you broke the timing belt, or it skipped teeth, you may have valve damage. I'm working on my roommates 6G72 eclipse right now that skipped 3 teeth on the front cam gear, front pistons and head are absolutely mangled.

Not sure about mini vans, but it has NO chance against cars and trucks of todays calibur! It felt about as fast as my 1994 probe GT on the low end but pulled WAY harder up top... From the feel I would say that its a high 14 to low/mid 15 sec 1/4 car... He plans on putting some turbos on it and alot of interier/exterier work on it to make it look new.... He got it for 5k... I like the car so I looked up some prices for a 1997-99 VR-4's and those things are STILL selling for around 18k! They are good track cars and come stock running mid 13's....

First off, wow, i payed that much for my car over a year and a half ago. . . now it would probably be like 4k.

Second, those VR4's IIRC dont have a very stout drivetrain in them, and if you launch them hard at all you will end up breaking parts that cost a fortune to fix. So maybe for autocross they'd be fun, but not drag racing.

True, I could see them doing better on a roll race or on the twisties! lol, I still cant believe I thought I broke his ****... Alls I could think about was that I was gonna have to tack on another 6 months of waiting for my V

Well yea twisties, but roll race's arent an AWD's strong point, granted they are TT, they still dont have much top end.

3kgts are slow. I dont care if your roll racing, dig racing, racing around twisties or racing in reverse, they are dogs. And more than likely if you messed up his timing belt your going to have some bent valves and a fucked up head so good luck with that lol.

Everytime I watch a video that is an import against an american car I have to read the comments. They just make me LMAO!!! Its a bunch of 12 yo kids saying they drive this or that and try and sound like they know what they are talking about.
