Default wont be talking about a bmw kill tonight - found an modded SC cobra-said 500whp

First run I punched beside him at about 65. I put a car on him and then I heard the SC whine. I knew it at least had a pulley. He floored it (in fifth I later found out), and the distance stayed about that (I might have got a little more distance).

We took an exit and turned around and talked while driving down the access road. I asked if it had a pulley and exhaust. He said yeah, I said making about 420 at the tires. He said 500.
I said he would have probably pulled me before long, thats when he says he was in 5th at 2500rpm. I said I am probably making maybe 350-360 at the tires.

We nailed it again from about 20 (I probably got about a .5 car jump) and then he goes storming by. At about 100 hes up by a full car.

At the next light I ask if its a aftermarket SC and he say its a stock blower with a stage 5 port.

He asks if its twin turbo and I said yeah, with a 20min/700$ bolton.

We both complement eachother on the rides and go separate ways.

Wait, let me get this straight!! You are only making 350rwhp with a 400ci small block chevy that is twin turboed and you hung with a S/C Cobra? I don't know man. You better erase this stuff before the blue bloods get here!! This just doesn't sound right.. I may have miss read it but it def. don't sound right!! Oh and what is this? 20min/700$ bolton.

I have two cars. The project is the 89rs with a 400 n/a and the daily driver is a bmw 335 with the JB3 boost.

Makes sense now. I love those 335's when modded.

Somewhere the subject got lost in this. The camaro never came into play. It was sitting at the house.

The cobra had complete boltons AND a ported blower. As I indicated, the driver said it made 500 at the tires.

I guess my future posts will need to more clarify the vehicle of the evening.

I'm guessing the Cobra driver either wasn't taking you very seriously, or is lacking the street racing gene in his DNA. No serious street racer is going to go from a 65 roll in 5th gear!

I'm also thinking a full bolt-on Cobra with a Stage 5 Stiegemeier port is going to do better than 500rwhp, but I could be wrong on that one. I'm not sure of the total horsepower gain of a fully ported Eaton blower.

It depends on the tune. 500rwhp is about normal. Lots of timing will
produce more power, which is why you see guys making 530rwhp with
a ported blower.

Yes....and the size of the pulley. I am hoping for 520ish with a Stage 4 Port but I also have a 2.65 upper.

Sounds like fun. I'm thinking of adding catless downpipes (AR Design) and an upgraded intercooler (Helix) this spring. Should get the 335 up to about 385-390HP on 93 octane. Some people are hitting about 405 HP (on 93 octane), when they do that plus replacing the rest of the exhaust to get rid of the second set of cats.

Modified Cobra's are out of the 335's league, even with a nice turbo upgrade maybe coming out later this year That might get us to 430-440 on pump gas.

Not to mention some people just round. If it made 512 RWHP or 495 RWHP, it's a lot easier just to say 500.
