Default TB SS vs Mach1. Suprising results!

I ran into a friend of mine on the street a week or 2 back. We happened to be lined up at a light and rolled out like a couple of normal, law abiding citizens... Until she took the hit. From about a 5-10 mph roll she ended up about even with my back wheels. And boy did she have excuses, LoL.

My truck is tuned with an IEATSRT8 intake and the Mach has a JLT CAI and cat back. I've driven her car a few times before and it just doesn't feel as quick as my old GT did. But regardless, I was surprised!

And I know, tsk tsk for playing on the street. But it was my first race in the SS!

Makes sense to me. I raced a Mustang Mach 1 from a low speed roll. I won by 3/4 car length. I was surprised because I beat a 3400Lb 320 stock BHP car in a 4700LB 395 stock BHP vehicle. The Mustang is owned by a girl I know, so I know the mods. Are further details required?

Nothing surprising about this. Didn't the dealer tell you that you were purchasing the fastest vehicle on earth when you signed the papers for the SS?

Seriously, though... what were some of her excuses? They may have been legit. I beat a light mod Evo 8 from a roll and knew there was a reason why. Turns out he wasn't boosting properly or something.

No heard it the first time and it still doesnt makes any sense. You shouldnt have won and like stated the excuses could have been legit. Was it an auto or a manual?

Car is a manual. Her primary excuse is "I didn't know we were racing" Says the girl who took the hit. LoL. Girl can actually drive a stick too. While i wouldn't qualify her as a "professional" she knows how to bang thru the gears.

Double entendre is intentional.

and sorry if this isn't clear. Just got off a 12 hour shift.

2wd, AWD? 2wd and I'm surprised it wasn't worse...

Sounds totally feasible to me. I never see those cars driven properly. Sure they're fast, the power is there. But no one can ever put it to the ground. In all my time at the track, i don't know if I've ever seen one dip into the 13s... Go from a dead stop next time. Tell her she'll have a better chance lol.

How true even for my 2WD now that the stock converter's back in.. On the street, any street this truck is running 12.9-13.1 consistently. I just "whack" the pedal and it leaves with barely a "chirp".
And I know this truck runs those times because I used to run it like this and that's what it ran, no matter what i did, 1.95 60' and 13.00, 13.05 and once even a 12.95.
Many much faster cars have no chance on street tires out there. by the time they hook I'm gone and in 10 seconds later at almost 100 your off it (at least out here) most races here aren't past 75-80mph due to intersections and what not.. Excuses are like ********, everyone has one and almost all of em' stink.

I wanted to run you before I left but I could never make a track rental cause of work... I figured it would have been a great race. You weren't at the meet were you?

Good kill. Some people don't understand that the fastest car doesn't always win, especially on the street.

BS then. I figured maybe it had something to do with her car running wrong.

Poor driver mod can overcome a really fast car. Good kill OP. Other than Ashley Force and Shirley Muldowny I haven't seen a chick drive a drag car worth a ****. Not that there aren't any I just haven't seen one.

For what? No fun when we both know what the outcome is because we both ran our trucks at the track an oomfufu amount of times lol.. Trying to get Matt to run me in the new Camaro (before it's broken in and he kills me, figure I can hold him off till about 70-80)

My man.... I would hope so.. That's where the TBSS is in a win win situation... Not supposed to be fast, it's almost 5000lbs, 4 spd auto and is shaped like a brick.. Lose to it and you'll never hear the end of it.. Beat it and that's what was "supposed" to happen anyway

Another lose lose situation.. Race a chick, lose and your gay... beat her and "she's a chick what did you expect?"

As for poor driver mod! how about me beating a CTS-V with an LS2 in it at E Town 13.5 to a 13.6 and he out trapped me by 4mph... As well as a GTO at Atco same thing and an LS1 FBody (T/A) auto that just couldn't figure out how to ge the most out of his car and lost again.. the list goes on and on. Hell I even beat 2 SRT8 Chargers, one was supercharged and couldn't muster better than a 2.1 60' and lost to me by a tenth! One thing these trucks are, even the 2WD is consistent.. I will miss it when it's gone, but I wont miss the Leaking rear main seal, the passenger mirror motor that freaks out when I'm in reverse and the driver's power seat motor that is only moving 6 ways, instead of 8 and the battery I had to replace!!! F'in GM quality, or the 3 water pumps this truck ate when it was new.. (it only has 11k on it now after 3.5 yrs..)

Sheet, two 12.6 trucks going at it and I know I got your *** on the lights, I say good race!!! My truck wouldn't hardly go faster in good air, but it'd run 12.6 on just about any night. If I would have stuck in my fastest pass, it would have went 12.4. Unfortunately I spun real good and missed out on the only good -DA run I got all year...

I'll get back there at some point tho and we'll run em both on the bottle
