Default PewterScrmnMach vs GTO

Camaro:
Cam
moser 12 bolt I think 4.10's
bolt ons tuned

GTO:
headers
tune

Video to come tomorrow.

Basically close from ~40-110, then the Camaro could finally stretch out a gear and use that cam to his advantage and start yankin.

One of the races I hit 140 and he had me by a good 2 carlengths. He can chime in with his side.

Good races man, the footage wasn't half bad. I'll post it tomorrow.

Hey man, great runs last night! Can't wait to see the footage! To give some more details until the video arrives, we both had a passenger (I took one of his because I was solo and he had two). First run we tried from 40mph in second but third gear has been giving me issues so I missed. Next run same thing only I went from 3rd at 40mph and he was in second. He jumped out a good car or so on me. By the top of third for me I had just about pulled it back, hit fourth and had a slow pull because my powerband drops (fourth is LONG in this car because of a short third), then when fourth wound out I finally started pulling decent, maybe a car or two? I guess the video will tell. We did do one more 40mph both in second and I just short shifted and went REAL slow and it went in. It stayed pretty even because of that until top of third and well into fourth when the results were similar as the last race. I gotta get this trans rebuilt so I can start shifting the damn thing again.

We also had a couple third gear runs from 60mph to eliminate my third gear grinding issue. Both runs he honked it off and we mashed it pretty even. They stayed even for half of my third, then I'd start a pull, but same thing in fourth where the pull would slow up at the bottom of fourth, almost like I'm losing momentum a bit, then when I hit higher up I'd start to pull a bit harder. Maybe 1 1/2 cars or so? Again, video will tell but we only got one of those runs on video.

That GTO pulls STRONG for all it has done to it (headers and a tune I believe he said). My car isn't exactly setup to run from a roll with the steep gearing and steep trans but regardless I'd guess I've only got a few mph on him in the 1/4. Would have been great to get some dig runs in but I believe he was on street tires so that wouldn't have gone too well, haha. Gotta love those GTOs. Oh yeah, and my car has junk LS6 heads and a heavy drivetrain, too.

Thanks for posting up! I really need to get this trans out of here and back to stock gearing. It kicks *** for dig runs and at the track, but I tend to find most of my runs on the highway and the short 1-3 gears and LONG fourth kills me from a highway roll, as you can see.

Yeah, this trans is great if you get a lot of dig races or it's a track car but for highway rolls there are too many dead spots and 1-3 wind out too quick, at least for my liking.

Haha, it was actually his buddy. He had two passengers and I was solo when I ran into him so I took one of his passengers to even it out. They just happened to have the camera.

Nice runs that GTO is no slouch as we all know how many kills PSM has under his belt. Hey I am going to drop a 9" in my car and I am going insane on deciding between 3.90's or 4.10's. I have the t56, my car pulls great with the 3.42's right now, especially 3rd gear I love it 40-110 mph Do you think a T56 with 4.10's is too steep? This is my daily driven street car but I want to run some good times at the track with some et streets. Oh choices choices! I was playing with a Trex cam only GTO on the streets and we were dead even but it was just a short 1-2 burst, I think I would have pulled him up top. Those GTO's dont **** around.

4.10's are fine for the street.

Close runs. That GTO is pretty impressive for what it is.

I feel ya for the MN12. I buddy of mine has one and I didn't like it. As little of races as we get around here I take what I can get, so I just got my T56 rebuilt so I'm good for dig or roll races. Good runs both cars are strong. But damn I guess I need to move to CT.... you're ALWAYS posting up races. Cant get anything around here. LOL

I just installed 3.90 in my cammed car and there is really not that much difference between them and 4.10. I just tried them to see if I'd like them. If I had the stock cam I'd definately keep 3.90. If you're going cammed I'd step up to 4.10...or lower

4.10s will be just fine with that setup your running and the stock trans. With that hp/tq it should run VERY similar to my car: high 11s and high 11X traps, assuming a decent track. The 4.10s will be good on the street and better at the track than the 3.90s, although it's not a huge difference, but enough to notice, I'd imagine. 3rd will take you into the 90s and 4th over 120. 2nd into the 60s, if I remember all of this correctly before I swapped my trans.

Ya I have already trapped 115mph in 3800 da with the 3.42s. I think with correction factors that is 120mph. Now I added a FTRA type setup and will be doing an underdrive so I should gain a few mph. I also hope when I swap over from the 3.42's I should gain mph with steeper gears. My engine makes peak power right around 6000 so I didn't want to turn it to high with 4.10s.
