Had some good runs tonight (ZX10 & 650awhp Eclipse)
I must say that tonight was a fun night. I finally got to run my friends est 650awhp second gen Eclipse. The Eclipse is a built stroker with a 35r on e85. After my run with the Eclipse I got to play with a 2008-2009 ZX10 Bike.
I was able to beat the Eclipse on both my boost settings (10lbs and 13lbs). The first race was from a 40 roll with me with me pulling hard all the way up to about 150, we'll just say it wasn't pretty. The next run was me on low boost, which wasn't pretty either. I'm a bit surprised that the Eclipse didn't pull harder?
After my runs with the Eclipse I got to play with a stock ZX10. What's funny is that I met the guy last weekend and he was telling me how he will never lose to a car LOL. I honestly didn't expect to win this race either. I had 3 runs with the ZX10 and pulled him on all three. After the race we talked about how he and his friend (2008 Hayabusa) want to run me again next weekend. The owner of the bike was cool as hell. I can't wait for next weekend when I get it on film.

Helluva night for you! Can't believe no one got it on video though. Time to spend $150 and get a magnetic mount all-in-one camera and stick it too your front fender looking back.
Whats your 1/4? or how much rwhp? to pull a ZX10 I'd imagine you are in the 700+ rwhp range...

damnit JD, i almost came out last night.. not trying to put down your kill but an 08-09 ZX10 traps 147+ in the quarter corrected, im thinking he might not be the greatest rider.

Not bad at all, I had a 2005 ZX10r that was around 161rwhp and would top out at 194 on stock gearing. It ran a 10.27 at 142 when I had it a couple of years ago.
Takes some stout power to outrun a liter bike, but it can be done. Guy here locally has a Evo that pulls liter bikes on the highway and it is a sick sight to see when he does.

link from a bike mag last year on the 2009 top hp bikes versus a Hennessey Ford GT1000. (The Henney was run on its low setting of 870rwhp due to wastegate issues) It faired OK in the 100-180mph distance
the ZX10 is, flat out, the baddest bike ever made for a roll race bone stock. Scary thought: with boltons and basic mods, both the ZX-14 and Hayabusa will outrun the zx10- even modded identical. Hard to beat a hp to lb ratio of 3.7 with a 180lb rider! The calculator says it takes 988rwhp for the GT1000 to match that, though in reality its more like 750-800rwhp 3200-3400lb car territory. Also, much over 100mph and the wind resistance saps the bikes twice as hard as a car...
The problem is very very few can handle all that bike power properly. Even from a roll, its takes talent with that kinda wheelie inducing power on tap. Kudos to the OP for frustrating yet another rider who Shoulda Coulda Woulda but Didn't! lol

Something doesn't add up here. A 988rwhp GT40 would be trapping at least mid 150's. Are you trying to say that a stock ZX10 can compete with that? On a side not, the rider weighs at least 230lbs.

From what I've seen, read, and been told by proffessional riders, basic modded ZX10's trap 145-152mph, FULLY dependant on rider. A full drag race kitted (cam's, ported head, 60+" wheelbase, air shifter, etc.) will throw down in the high 8 to low 9 range in the mid 150's. With bikes, it's ALL about the 1/8 mile times.
That being said, I'll give you a tip: IF he is not a 1/4 mile track junky (occasional trips dont count) I would challenge him to a dig race. Here's why: out of the 100+ riders on newer 1000's with little or no dig racing experience that I've seen at the 1/4 mile track, only 1 even made it into the 10's. Seriously. Those bikes are that hard to launch. He should know that, too, and will try to bluster his way out of it with "You don't want to race me from a dig".
Call him out on that challenge and take his money. Then tell him to spend some money on a few track days.
EDIT: almost forgot: I said that that GT was set at the lower rwhp power setting: 870rwhp. They had an issue that wouldnt allow the full 1000rwhp tune to work, AND the listed times were taken at a old airfield were the testing was done: all busted up concrete and expansion cracks, etc... that would favor a bikes better traction.

Sounds like some awesome runs, and sounds like you have a sick ride! Gotta get some pics up for us!
I see your old Z28 in your sig, but what mods were done to your old vette?

I raced my ZX10r several times and never had a real issue at the track, most of the time if it pulled the front wheel I either rode it out and shifted it while up in the air or jsut short shifted it.
Didnt really matter as it would wheelie in 2nd and 3rd rather easily.
Unless a Hyabusa/ZX14 was really modded I had no problems outrunning them as well, they are almost 50-100 pounds heavier than the ZX10r and the 10r puts out similar HP stock and modded.

i agree with JD tho, idk how that ford gt didnt trap at least 145+...
my point being, JD i dont think that youd beat that bike with a shorter, 150 lb, very skilled rider.
