so just to get this out of the way ill go ahead and list what i have, which is ls6 intake, long tubes, orx, 342s and tune. i work at a bmw dealership and have drove many m5s but had never raced one........ till now. i was on break one day and was on my way back to work and saw one pull up at a red light and i got next to him and barely started rolling up just to see what he would do. when the light turned green we just casually accelerated and my lane was about to end and by this time i figured he wasnt going to do anything so i start to give it a little more gas and i get up to about 40 and then he nails it. and with his 6speed auto he gets a pretty good leap on me especially since i was hitting my low 2nd gear but as soon as my rpms pass 4000 his pull stops and i start catching up. and then he starts to let off so we slow back down to about 55 and im thinking that this will be a little better. i go ahead and wait for him to hit the gas before i take off and once i hear his engine rev up i go. we were even for just a few seconds until i start pulling on him. and at 110 i had a car on him. ha and then after all is said and done i get back to work and the guy pulled in right behind me. turns out he was taking his car there for an oil change. and of course he gave me the congrats on my car. so there is that one. next race is pretty funny. i was on my way home the same day and was sitting at a dead stop on the highway in the right lane. and i notice this infinity g35 in the next lane about to pass me and when he does he gives me a rev. i heard his little cold air and he had the dual fart blowers. and me the guy i am i was just like oh hell no. so i hit the gas and get in his lane and chase him down. once we got into some open lanes i get next to him and wait for him to take off. so when he finally takes off i hit it and automatically jump about a car infront of him, hit 3rd and got another car. 65-110 i had a good 3 cars. so i let off to see if he wants to come up to me and give it another try but he slowed way down and refused to come back up to me. but yea thats my story for the day. ha my motor also has 175000 miles on it so no more racing for me till i get it rebuilt.

im guessing it was the 400hp v8 m5 and not the newer 500hp v10 (theyre 7 speed smgs and 6 speed sticks)

no it was the 500 hp one. one of the techs there said that it didnt surprise him. i mean im not saying that i totally smoked him. it was very close, i just came out a little more on top. but then again since it was an auto its possible that they guy just got the car for looks and didnt know about the little downshift button under the gas peddle. so it just might have been a driver error. i was still satisfied though. ha and sorry for so much detail.

If you pulled him, he probably had the car in 400hp mode. Those things trap like 116-118 so if you started out behind and came around him with a car that traps probably 108ish, he probably wasn't running it hard. That thing would destroy me and I trap 112.

ha oh well, his fault. but another bmw i would also like to try would be the 335i coupes. i love driving those things.
