I have a 01 M6 FireHawk i just purchased yesterday and i have this little ***** saying he will out run me which i know better unless i miss a gear heres the run down
I own a 01 FireHawk SLP lid SLP Cat back 4.10 gears short throw shifter
04 Stang has M5 4.10 Slowmaster cat back CAI,
what is ur outlook on this race i see me winning by a few cars if i dont miss a gear lol
We will problay start from a rol,l either way my Hawk is looking for prey lol

Youre gonna waste him. Put some money on the race if hes that ignorant and confident.
How do these guys with 2Vs not realize how much faster a Firehawk/Trans Am/Camaro LS1 is than their cars?!? Always amazes me...

Doesn't matter what he has on the Stang. If it doesn't have any power adders, you'll walk him hard even if you miss a gear. Even if he's an exceptional driver and is able to yank a couple cars off of you from a dig, just keep in it and you'll reel him in no problem. Just agree to run to a certain speed / distance. The 2v's run out of breath up top, but can be pretty sneaky down low. However, from the mods you listed on the Stang, it won't even be close.

If he was a bolt-on/tuned/4.10 car, and you were stock, he would have a chance from a dig. Going from a roll is dumb on his part. Try to get video of you laying waste to him.

When I see fellows cruising around in Mustangs, Hondas, DSMs, other F-bodies or whatever else I'd be interested in running, I always wonder if they're also online somewhere and as well informed as some of us are. Do you know what I mean? When I see a guy get cocky in a '96 GT, I just ask myself, "Does he not know what he's getting into?" Do they not read up on anything else?
Not that I wouldn't try LS1s if I were cruising around in a slower car, but atleast I would know what to expect.
