Default 5 races: SRT-4 vs. Z28

I was driving home from work today, about a 45 mile drive, and I see a yellow SRT-4 Neon ahead a little bit. I catch up to him and were cruising at about 75.

1st race: 75-120, I started in 3rd he got the jump of about a half car. Took me til about 105 to get even then I pulled a fender on him by 120.

2nd race: started at 60 this time, i put it in 2nd and he took off but i was ready this time. I pulled hard and he was at my rear bumper by 100 when we let off.

3rd race: Different highway, started at 55, 2nd gear again (duh!) we both floored it at the same time. I was a 1/2 car ahead by 110.

After this race we get stuck at a light behind a few people. He told me he was stock, and I told him the same. He was a really cool guy. He also told me that i would beat him worse from a dig lol. Not talking **** or anything. So we keep going...

4th race: Dang this guy is persistent! We turn onto a different road and theres 3 lanes wide open road in front of us. This time we slow to 55 and I honk it off 3 times. I get the jump and put about 1 1/2 cars on him by 90.

5th race: He honks this time and we both hit it at 3 exactly. I pulled really well and had roughly 1 1/2 to 2 cars on him by 125. My exit was about a mile away so i waved and got off the highway.

All in all it was really fun and really close. We were pretty much neck and neck until about 90+mph when I began to pull him every race. I didnt think the SRT-4s were that quick in stock form. I wish we could have done a dig race to see what the difference would have been. Oh well it was a fun drive home for sure

I had a 05 SRT-4 Neon and I slightly pulled a stock LS1 Trans-am from a 30 roll. So they are quick from a roll...when it was all said and done...I had a stage 3 kit...and it took a h/c/true dual's,4:10 LS1 Formula to beat me by 1/2 car from 30-135...NASTY from a roll. But you would have slaughtered him from a dig...major traction issues even in stock form

Sounds like some fun especially since the guy was cool about it. Its hard to find that anymore in a lot of people.

Ferg did have a SRT4 and when it was stock it he did beat a auto ls1 from a 30 roll by like a fender. He then stage 3'd it and it did take the car he mentioned to beat him from a roll. Also don't forget what happened when we raced...LOL

Nice Kill OP.

I havent taken my car to the track yet but I have heard that stock LS1s trap between 103-108mph. Someone with real world experience please speak up. But i can surely tell you that it happened....about 5 times. Thats how I know my car was for sure faster.

It was as close as it was because you're a stock automatic with 2:73's.
A stall and gears would turn that close race into a slaughter-fest.

There are a few people on this forum that know from a roll a stock skittle can/will pull a STOCK LS1. When I was done I had a bigger turbo, bigger injectors, new pcm,new fuel pump, and running 21 lbs of boost. So it was a beast from a low roll

I took mine when it was bone stock and ran 13.5@103.5 and that was on shitty 245 street tires

Mine is a 98 Z28 with 86k miles and 2.73 gears (I think?? Its at 1750 rpm at 55mph). And I pulled him. But I don't see how mileage has anything to do with it as long as compression is 100% and everything is running right. If anything I think that a stock SRT-4 vs. stock A4 LS1 is a drivers race, since I won all my races and since there are people here who have witnessed a Skittle pull an LS1.

i would pay anyone 50$ if a stock skittle could stay within a car of me to 120, because im about a car faster than an m6 ls1 stock. and i mean 100% stock

From a dig you would most probably win. From a roll, I think you would lose your bet. But what the heck do I know, I only have both types of cars...

Good luck finding any stock skittles, I don't think I know any...
