Quick question,
Why does he floor the clutch as he's getting off the gas at the end of the run?
Not to load up the front suspension too quick on decell ?

He is most likely putting it in neutral to help him slow down is what I am thinking.

powershifting is not rocket science. i took a buddy in my car after he drove it. his shifts took a LONG time. 1 second i bet. i got in it a semi-powershifted it so he can se how fast a shift can be. it isnt hard.

Less stress on the motor to put it in neutral over letting the RPMs hang.

How would neutral slow it down? Leaving it in gear will slow you down much faster...but it also puts unnecessary stress on the motor, so he put it in neutral.

It's never left in neutral in decent road circuit racing.

Since this was clearly a circuit race.

he said it better then me. Leaving in neutral applying the brake. Less stress on the engine. Still don't have the engine trying to drive the car forward.

Looks about right. And to reiterate what a lot of people are saying, shifting like that is wicked easy and nothing impressive. That's why there are no bad drivers on the road and everyone drives their cars 100% efficiently, at all times.

Wicked ez.

Once again, you are a bit slow and miss the point. I said something alogn the lines of what Stopsign said, that leaving it in gear and letting the RPMs falling slow the car down puts unnecessary stress on the motor. But I also was saying that you're an idiot if you think neutral will slow the car down. You use the brakes either way to slow down, but when you leave it in gear you don't have to use the brakes the entire time (whereas if you put it in neutral, you do).

I didn't think such an easy statement needed to be explained so thoroughly.

And some SCs tend to throw belts if you lift off from WOT and didn't upgrade the tensionner.
I heard on 4.6 they do, dunno about the 5.0 though.
