Default 2012 V6 stang versus any takers in L.A.?

I'm back in Cali on another work trip, this time in the Los Angelas area. Rented a 2012 V6 Mustang. Very surprised at the power of it: the last 2011 I rented a year ago didn't feel half this fast. Matter of fact, I'd guess it could take out a stock LT1 vette or fbody. Probably even one with minor boltons. Any takers?

I'm willing to run anything. let me know fellas! I bet it would even be a decent run for a LS1 fbody -- at least until 70-80mph.

lol only if your cobalt was stock! though with what appears to be aggressive gearing (hits 3rd gear quick, I'm guessing 3.40 gears or higher) I'm sure it could hang with your balt in a zero to 60 run on the street. maybe.

from their trap im guessin a long run would be rough on the rental but a stop light to light run would be interesting ;D

lol just cus it feels fast doesnt mean it is. A buddy has a 2011 v6 with the performance package which includes gears and brembo brakes etc... supposed to run 13s. It barely kept up with another friends' bolt on 2v gt which ive beat when my lt1 was bone stock and i had 4 passengers with me and t-tops off. I couldnt race the 11 v6 straight up, because some sheriffs started following us.

Theyre still pretty fast for a v6, might be a good match for stockish lt1s, sn95 cobras, 2v gts, previous hemi r/ts, but not ls1s and up.

Exactly, you slack a little at the light and that v6 stang is gonna hold w/e lead it got on you till speeds increase.

kinda like lt1 vs ls1, we can hang 0-45/60 but after that forget it.

So your stock lt1 with 5 people in the car beat a bolt on 2v gt? Ummm ok.

I think he meant driver and 3 passengers which = 4 people. Bolt on lt1 I could see that happening, or a really poorly running 2v. Stock lt1 vs bolt on 2v not so much, the 2vs are slow but not that slow lol

~edit~ Id be putting my money on a full bolt on 2v with 500lbs weight advantage vs a 100% stock lt1. Even being an lt1 lover.

yep. I had a friend riding shotgun and 3 girls in the back . I had my t-tops off cus we were only going to the donut shop when we bumped into a 01 bullitt. One of the girls knew him and texted him to follow us to the freeway. We did like 3 runs there. To be fair, all these runs were within a car lenght so it was pretty damn close but it still managed to walk 2 out of three runs. The third one he got the jump and i was at his door the whole time where he let off around 100. He wouldnt tell me anything about his mods other than it was a higher compression saleen engine but eventually i found out he has full exhaust and some sort of aftermarket clutch at least. At the time i only had the throttle body bypass.

Then the 2011 v6 stang raced the same bullitt, and told me the 2v barely pulled on him.

I would run it but gas costs too much to waste it.
