Finally got beside a new 5.0 Mulestang on the freeway. I was on the on-ramp getting on the freeway in my antique 02 LE SS and I see him in the rearview flying up on me all in my mirror... he whips around me and is cruising at 85-90. I clear the traffic and run him down... he revs at me and is passing in and out of lanes.....I follow less aggressively as him and we finally get some clear freeway... I let him take the hit and I steadily pull him up to 125. The 5.0 ran good but it was probably bone stock but don't know for sure. I slow and want to do it at a lower speed....I rev the LS1 at him but he doesn't want any more. Made my night and at least he ran his car. They are good looking cars but he got a nice long look at my CME and there wasn't a thing he could do about it as it pulled away!!!

Where you been for the last year? the 2011 5.0 is as legit as the LS1 fbodies were when they came out: every bit as legit and impressive. Mod just as easy too.

Look at how many different variations and off mustangs there have been through out the years, ie mach 1, saleen, cobra, gt, roush, and so and so on.for them know come out with something that can run with over 10 year old technology is not saying much on there part. the pushrod engine is tried and true. Not trying to start anything.

name one factory mustang other than the terminator. and when i say factory, i mean one that has had no aftermarket design and doesnt have to be shipped to a company after its built to get extra go fast goodies, i.e. roush, shelby, saleen.

I have LT's, full exhaust, TB, Lid, tune, Circle D 3200, 04 LS6 camshaft & springs so it pulls up top, 3.23 gears and 2002 technology. He took the hit and pulled for just a second then it was a steady pull ===not night and day but a steady pull away ==probably 3-4 cars up to 125 or so but that doesn't take long starting at 85. No way was he going to get back to me. My bros new SRT8 Challenger is a different story. That thing pulls very hard and will all the way to 172mph where it is limited by computer.

I actually raced a 2010 or 11 last weekend. It had the dealer optioned supercharger. My car is bone stock down to the paper filter. I actually even have 273 gears and 20 inch wheels I roll around town on that are 27" tall, which has to put my gear ratio somewhere in the 250's range lol. Astoundingly, from a about a 60 roll up to 130ish he never passed me. At the same time in another lane was a car that I have personally gone 11.1 in participated and he was right there with me. Now from a dig, we know how that might have ended lol.

You know ohc engines have been around for a long time ,they are not new technology.But you gm guys like to make it out like ohc motors are a new design so you have one more excuse to use if you lose.
