Default G8 vs 04 Cobra

Me and a buddy were headed to a car meet yesterday when I came across an unassuming G8 on the interstate. We were just passing by him and I burped the throttle at him goofing off. It was an older guy in a shirt and tie with business suits hanging in back so I didn't think he would race at all. Sure enough he followed and came right up to me. I have raced a couple bolt on G8's and it was not even really close so I was not real concerned with him. Then this happened.

http://youtu.be/ZPGQ-oGzzac

Talked to him afterwards as we were driving and he said the G8 had bolt'ons, cam, and blower. Couldn't get the specifics on it though. The car was totally quite and I could never even really here the blower on it but my passenger could. Guess thats what I get for getting cocky lol.

Have to be careful with those g8s. One of my best friends has a sleeper ttg8 that is on the verge of breaking into the nines in the quarter

Awesome post man. Bet that guy was just chuckling to himself when you burped at him. At least you aren't pulling the "I missed a gear" excuse.

LOL thanks guys. It was one of those times where I really didn't mind losing too bad. I was really impressed with his car. I just sent my blower off for porting/pulley swap but I am not even sure if that would have saved me here.

Those G8's are really nice cars and will roll when modded.

OP do a search on here and you will find a video of me racing my buddies g8 when he was only making like 550hp. Given after the race I found out I was down 100hp and 200tq from where I should have been but it would not have been enough to change the outcome of the race

I hear you on that. Good death by such an unassuming car. Any pics of the termi? Some of the ford nutswingers around here assume we all are GM fanboy's, but I do love those cobra's

Honorable death! Cobra sounds great. Any pics of it?

SRZ, this is your wake up call to get a blower and cam for your G8

Nice honorable death OP. Gotta give you props for being man enough and posting the loss. I personally would love to even get a race. I guess the sound and personalized tag scares people off though. Btw OP if you don't mind saying where are you from that hwy looked kinda familiar.

Thanks. Yeah I got a couple pics here. Its fairly stock at the moment with just exhaust, CAI, and tune. It made 425rwhp and ran 12.41 @ 114mph on street tires just for reference on how hard that G8 was pulling. I am from AR and that computer generated hwy you saw is patterned after I40 over by Little Rock lol.

Looks great! We have 2 03-04 Cobras running around my college campus and I always love hearing them when they get on it (1 is just intake and exhaust - one of the owners is adding pulley to his intake/exhaust/tune. Great cars with lots of potential and they sound awesome as well

Not a big fan of the yellow, but it looks stellar in that shot.

Cool man I will do that.

Yeah the yellow is typically a color people either really like or not at all. We affectionately call it the short bus. I was actually looking for a Sonic Blue one but I found this one and loved the yellow when I saw it. Thanks for the compliment on the photo though!

You got pulled hard, I love Terminators though. Beautiful car man, sonic blue is my favorite.

Honorable death.
