so i decided to take the wife out in the t/a tonight for a cruise (having a baby on the way i dont think there will be much time for it anymore) saw a couple cars but they didnt want to play, except the slow 3 series bmw. so i decided to call it a night and head home. as we are about to get off on our exit i see headlights on the other side of the highway. as soon as it passes i knew it was a new stang. ive been dying to see what my car will do against one so i hurried up and got back on the highway and chased him down. mind you its almost 1 am and there are no other cars for miles. only real problem is it was about 42 degrees out. anyways i did a little flyby just to see if he was game. sure enough as soon as i got a car ahead (i wass off the throttle) he hit it and came back up beside me.i was all excited until i looked down on his fender and saw this little chrome cobra staring at me.. so i drop down into 2nd gear doing about 50 and wait for him to honk.. nothing, so i go aheaad and honk it of and punch it. instantly i pull a good car car and a half and keep pulling slowly. by 80 hes back at my bumper when whoops, forgot to put it back in 3rd so i bounced off the limiter. im thinking to myself theres no friggin way i just pulled a brand new supercharged 5.0. so we get side by side again, this time i drop down to first doing about 25 (best spot for my car) and i honk it again. im instantly 3 cars out and pulling hard through second. i wait for the guy to catch up and asked if he wanted to stop at a local hangout so we pulled off and b/s'ed for bout half an hour. turns out his clutch was slipping and he couldnt get traction to save his life. said it put down around 650 whp. and also turns out the guy used to own my t/a which i thought was kind of funny. all in all it was a good night and i wish i could meet more mustang owners like that.

So it was a S/C 5.0 GT or a Shelby GT500? I'm pretty sure there's no 5.0 Cobra.... Also sound a little bit like an excuse, you can definitely regulate your throttle to keep traction or slippage under control. If his car makes that much power he could probably walk you while being only into the throttle 75% while still keeping the clutch and tires in line. (depending on your mods) But I do agree that there should be more nice guys around... All that's around me are cocky stang guys and ricers.... I did meet a nice 04' Lancer Evo MR guy that I walked in my Camaro though... haha Nice kill none the less!

nice kill. if it was a 2011 gt500 it puts out 550 hp unless it was modded. i'm curious what's done to your car cause like was said earlier, even spinning that car would pull a stock auto Trans Am.

1. shes barely 2 months smartass and i didnt even go over 100.
2. i know i beat the driver, but it was all fun as hell, even if he woulda beat me like he should have
3. i know very little about the new stangs, what he told me is that it had the super snake kit on it, so i would assume it was a gt500 and he paid for it to be upgraded?
4. my cars stockish... it does need a tune really bad though

i saw a supersnake 750 at the track last year with a smaller pulley supposedly throw down a wild and BEST time of 8.2 1/8th mile time on nitto drag radials. Other runs were high 8's lol.. best mph was 99. just couldnt drive it... if this guy was on street tires a stock trans am could have easiliy taken it down from low speed roll. spinnin aint winning right?

So you rced a new supersnake as the guy told you. so it looked like pic below. As said spinning isn't winning. So good kill. It happens. Oh and als there is no 2011 Cobra or 2011 5.0 Cobra. They are GT500's not cobra's. The GT500 is a 5.4 SC till 2013 which is a new 5.8 SC engine. The supersnake can come with a couple different power levels all way up to 800hp. And a nice hefty price tag also. They even now have one that is coming out that makes a 1000hp. Price including cr is 200k. Way over priced if ask me. BUt any way what one did you race from pics below.
