good races... looks like your car def has the stronger hit though. Looks like you jump out, he starts to catch up in the mid range, then you start to pull again up top. Good stuff. My guess is A6>A4. Grand prix needs a converter. Seems like whenever it shifts, you pull, but he pulls at the top of his gear

He spun a bit on both runs, although the second was a better start for him. His car was definitely pulling back through the mid range, but once he shifted into 3rd gear (around 100 mph) I would start walking. I'd like to see a lower roll with him on a tire.

thats what i figured was happening, you pulling again when he shifts. Needs to up the converter. Is it still the stock one?

Stock converter, but if I were him I'd do tires first. If he's already spinning, the converter is only gonna make that worse unless he starts at higher speeds.

The converter has nothing to do with it... he needs better gearing. It's the downfall of the W-Body

Converter will allow it to slip more on shifts shortening the shift extension. My gto had too big a cam for its converter. Shift extension was 2000rpm and it literally fell on its face on the 2-3 shift. I upped it to a circle d 4000 converter. Dropped my shift extension to 900 rpm. Solved any issues with shifting the car.

Sounded like a one speed lol

and yes the gt2 lost

Good runs, any track times for the GTX? Depending on the cam, car should get some 3.29's. With xp cam, i/c, exhaust, tune, 2.6 I ran a 12.6@112 street tires. Feel like a heads/gen v car should be a good bit stronger.

IMO on a slick the car will go high 11's at somewhere around 112mph.
He makes enough power to do it... just need the traction.

good runs. the w-body has never been known for good topend. but give them grip from a dig and they can destroy just about anything. they make there power very fast and down low, and yep a grandprix with 358 rwhp ran 11's years ago using slicks.

Sweet runs! Def don't see many supercharged 3.8's that are that quick. Thats a clean car too....I've seen it in person!

Really, you think it'll trap that high? I know the G8 has gone around 108-109 from what I remember. I guess if he has good acceleration through 1st and 2nd he could hit that trap. Def a cool car.

Mine went 112 full weight. XP cam, air to water I/C, 3" exhaust, stock manifolds, ported stock blower, tune, 2.6" pulley. 12.65@110 with a 1.87 60' on street tires and stock suspension.

Sounds about right. Gearing is awful in those cars.

For these races, we started in a pretty good spot for both cars, except the Grand Prix had traction issues. Go from a dig with both cars having traction and the G8 is gonna lug out of the hole, while the GP is accelerating hard.
