Default 2v 5th gen vs Porsche

It has been more than a month since I got to run somebody in the 5th gen. And as some of you may or may not know, I just recently finished swapping a 2v into the car. I modified the TVS2300 to fit it, even though it IS bigger than the actual engine. At first I was worried it wouldn't have enough power to turn the blower, but boy was I wrong. Just cranking the car up the 2v had so much power it overspun the blower. I had to use some tape and glue to fix that.

Anyway... Took me a long time to tune it to excellence because when I plugged in the computer to tune it the computer displayed an error message which read "the 1800s called and it wants its motor back." I was baffled, so I had to tune the engine using a pencil, ruler and protractor.

After tuning, I had to adjust the boost. As most of you know, the bigger engines can dish out 6-700+ hp on just 8psi, but this 2v at 8psi was only dishing out 184hp. I was again baffled. I went back to my protractor and ruler and did some tuning and after that I bought a pulley at Walgreens and with my quick tape/glue blower fix the blower now boosts 48psi. I'm sitting at around 343hp on the 2v. That and 213tq.

Now, you all may be thinking, but 2ss... your ls3/l99 boosted 8psi and had over 600rwhp. Yes, but this is the marvel of it. That ls3/l99 face dropped at 4k rpm. This 2v goes well into 9k rpm and holds a steady line so I am actually faster.

So today I crank her up, and she sounds wonderful. I mean god damn sexy. I take her out. I'm cruising, you know being cool like my mustang buddies on mustangevolution taught me. And to my left I see a porsche. Not sure on mdoel, but it's nice. He looks over, I look at him, he nods, I say TWO VEEEE and I accelerate. I left him int he DUST guys. I must of pulled 1 car in first, spinning, and another 10 cars in second. When I hit 3rd he was so far behind I truly felt like a mach1 owner.

Imagine what this car will do when I get some proper gearing in it!

Oh yeah, I was running on regular front tires, full exhaust, hood was on, had a handgun in the car, a bag, my pencil/ruler/protractor, orange juice, and a watch. So I was at like weight 5400lbs.

Here's a pic of street setup 2v:

Good runs dude. I'm amazed at the dyno numbers you managed to put down. Seems the regular bolt on mach guys can't even touch those kinds of numbers. Good thing you had that TVS. I can't say I'm truly surprised though. When I tried to tune my 2v swap on my android tablet, the exact error I got was "ERR:1800 - Year needs motor." Good thing your reader gave you a full breakdown. I had to actually use google to fix it, and then use youtube to see how fast it would run afterwards.

I will be posting a DIY thread on how to tune a 2v.

You need to have basic skills using a protractor though. Which may disqualify a lot of people.

I'm guessing you need to use it in comparison for torque measurements and tuning AFR for the powerband?

You need to use it to control the rpms. The ruler controls torque and AFR, since they are both flat lines.
