Arrow Rematch- AED tuned 5.0 vs Lund tuned 5.0

You might remember the original race with the odd start from this thread:

...well, got the Mustangs lined up again for a clean start.

Good driving. Surprised with the outcome though.

Shaun does some good tuning. Can also see the gearing difference with the 3.73 car having to shift faster.

Nice vid!

Sweet run. That AED car went pretty damn well considering the worse gearing and less mods.

But the dark gray one makes me want a new 5.0.

Great run. Both have followers for their tunes. Both have haters. Its been said AED tunes more aggressive on bolt on cars. But Lund tunes the fastest 5.0's and mustangs. Besides bolt on car thats JPC street legal and full blown race setup.

That AED tune held up with no issues considering mod differences.

That would be tire spin. And a great example of knowing when to and when not to power shift.

Good run

Great race and great sounding 5.0. Also looks awesome in that color. As far as gearing is concerned... IMO.... the 3.31 is the better gear to have WITHOUT a boss intake. With the boss intake, 3.73s or 3.90s are optimal (talking m6). But with the standard gt intake and 3.73s... theres just too much shifting in a short amount of time.

Also people should note that LT's is only a 10-15whp gain over an off road x pipe. Sonthese cars should be pretty close in power.

terrible comparison for just headers... base model vs what looks like a premium track pack. Already disadvantage. Then what looks like a better driver in the 2012 as well. With the stock GT intake and lack of rpm.. I see the 3.73s at a large disadvantage...especially with a slower driver.

The way i look at this video is, the heavier car with the lesser driver....still won the race.

Both drivers are definitely adequate, but you have it right, base vs loaded minus glass roof. The extra weight slows the '14 down a bit, but once he stops shifting every few seconds, it rolls out.

Base vs premium so 230lb weight different roughly. Depending on driver.

A lot guys dont. Not worth money less trying to get every hp out car n/a and hit certain ET. Or trying making fi setup more efficient. Which is why im doing headers.

AED car is getting headers and E85, Lund car is talking about maybe going to AED. Both cars have Darkstars and slicks so hopefully we get a dig rematch soon on the street and some track times.
