Stock 02 Z28 vs Modded 2v
About a week ago me and the wife were out cruising on the highway messing around, and all of a sudden a white 2v gets on a couple of cars back. I'm not really paying any attention until he gets one lane over and hammers it. I ask my wife if she wants to see a race and she says "A CHASE IS A RACE" (I should have never tried to teach her, but its too late now) I down shift and just keep up until he starts slowing down and we come to a break in the little amount of traffic that was out.
I Think this is my chance and get next to him and wait for him to honk it off(My horn doesn't work) He waited for what felt like forever so I start to roll the window down to tell him. We are going about 40 or so and he starts to honk, we get an even hit and take off, I pull out about half a car and very slowly keep seperating from him till about 1.5 to 2 cars and then let off, he keeps on it and flies by me before he lets off.
I get behind him and we both get off at the next exit, so I pull up next to him at the light to tell him good race, The guy turns out to be a douche bag and the first thing he tells me is his car is only an 01 to which I say "yeah mines just an 02", then he says I only have long tubes and some mufflers. I tell him it was a good race and the light turns green so I take off and get back to cruising.
Thought it was funny that he just started explaining why he lost instead of just saying good race, I definately wasnt trying to gloat about the win but some people get so butthurt when they lose.

Lol nice run man! I used to own a 04 Mustang gt with full bolt ons, cams, gears, and a 100 shot. Even with all that I know my Camaro would stomp it on motor. I did love the sound of my Stang though

^^^ yes this is very true! A friend of mine had a 302 sroker in his 01 gt, and was tired of the weak performance, so he slapped on a Vortech with meth (makes 15 psi) and now pulls down over 550 rwhp. Not something you expect out of a mudular 2 valve lol

Coming from owning a 2v, NA they're slow. I think there's been a few people get high 300's out of them NA. But that's a high 13:1 compression motor, top of the line TFS race (not regular) heads, and some big cams.
With boost, they (along with anything else) can be fast. Mine made 415rwhp stock long block, and a vortech with 11psi and meth injection. Best run it made was 11.98 @ 118.6mph at 13psi in negative 1200da. Would run normal low 12.1-12.3 @ 115-116mph in normal DA.
But I raced a buddies ws6 with an ls6 cam, ls2 heads, full exhaust and from a 40-130 roll I could put a half to a car on him. I don't remember the exact specs on the car Evan would probably know.
Point is, beating a NA 2v is nothing to brag about. It's a little 281 with **** heads that don't flow. Even 90% of the ones with boost aren't done right. Making 350-360rwhp on 10psi. At 10lbs with an efficient setup it should be around 400rwhp.

The 2v was a complete joke from day one. It was a long stroke motor with no torque with ohc that wouldn't rev. It was a marvel of modern engineering, lol. I mean, seriously, how did they pull that off? Let's not forget about the bore spacing...
