Good runs! This strengthens my theory... TVS FTW!

I have yet to see a Whipple/Kenne bell car run hard for its WHP. Like in this situation. Clearly underpowered (possibly heavier depending on your mods) and still pulled out the win. Didnt sound like the whipple car had a bad driver either.

I cant even say the whp is a lie. Because Ive seen it first hand. Local guy made 675whp on his whipple 07gt500. Then he went to the track and ran consistant 11.4-11.5 at 122-124. So i called BS on his HP and had him come to my dyno. He made considerably less power... but still.... too slow for its power. Made 645whp. We did back to back runs without cool down and it only lost 10whp. So heatsoak isnt a big player here either. His driving isnt bad... in fact his track performance was pretty efficient... it just doesnt move. I dont get it...

150whp deficit and gets pulled goes to show not all power is created equal.

Yea exactly perfect example of why some gt500s need a 200 plus whp advantage against a c6 and some don't. I also ran a 3.4 non crusher car on 17lbs made 693. I pulled him as well lol

The TVS vs. Whipple debate has gone on for a while. Here is my take on it... at 15-19psi boost, the TVS will have the advantage. TVS is hard to beat for a good street unit with stock bottom end, because it will more than support the 750rwhp "safe max" for the stock block. Above 19+psi the Whipple will start to shine over the TVS because of the displacement advantage. Not sure why he would only trap 122-124..even at 645rwhp.

Eaton developed the TVS, and the first car it was used on was the TRD Aurion.

Do some research bud. The developed it with gm. Gm was looking for a more efficient blower when developing the ZR1. They worked together on the project.

Was used first on 2006 TRD version of the Toyota Aurion. TVS was obviously developed before the ZR1. GM may have worked with Eaton to develop one FOR their ZR1.. but GM had nothing to do with the TVS initial development itself.

Research - Check..

Yep, GM worked with TVS and Ford to develop the blower available for the GT500. TVS took GM's plans and coaxed Ford to make the engine compatible with the GM design! It's all a conspiracy....

Did I get that right, HiO? I'll write GM a letter with a picture of my ******* enclosed with Fun Dip sprinkled on it so they can lick my *****, just for you.

sure seems that way.

Quoted from that article.

"Four lobed supercharger rotors is a more efficient, quieter design that was developed specifically for the ZR1. Right: Close up of the mated lobes has a nice "arty" look."

I have a magazine article that went a bit more in depth about it somewhere.
