Call out to a **** talker! Well this past Saturday I called out a guy that supposedly had a 1200hp Dodge Diesel 4x4
I was going to the track with my buick anyways and I needed a race so I got tired of the constant talking and never seeing his truck run so I called him out, low and behold all the b.s he talked he admitted the truck is stock with out a programmer and he never showed.
I ended up running a 79 Trans Am with world product heads and etc.
First run was off the arm drop and he ran my grandpa and pulled a fender on top end 1/8th mile track.
I ran ounce to shake down with the new driveshaft and than we lined up off pro tree. He got the r/t but I reeled it in at the 60' and had a door to door run all the way to the end. I ended up running a 8.541 and he a 8.611 and I will upload a crappy cell phone video later for you to see the race.

Crap...I had some 9 sec 1/8 mile passes that I was going to post in a new thread. Oh well, guess I will head on over to the Yugo forum where they will appreciate it a bit more.

My buds diesel has the works, big twins and all. Supposed to make 1000fwhp but makes 700 rwhp. Trapped high 80's in the 1/8th with a limited launch due to peeling up the track surface with the knobby tires. I wasn't impressed. He **** his pants when I told him my little truck trapped 96.5 on motor lol. Everyone said he would walk me but now we know differently. His blown c5z makes 700 rwhp tho so he's got me covered with that. Diesels are just too heavy to impress me.

Not necessarily. All the ho in the world in those things don't mean **** without a properly built drivetrain. I had a friend who cranked his cummins up around 200 more hp and it ran slower because the trans couldn't handle it.

Yes the diesels can make power when built properly, but this kid talks so much hype that he said it was 1050hp when Monday morning rolled around.
Yeah we run 1/8th down here cause its the closest track, gonna try and run it out to the 1/4 sometime to see what it runs but honestly judgeing by my rpm in the 1/8th I probably will be turning the life outta it or have to get out of it.
Only reason for the vid was to show how close the race was.
