Default A few runs from 2013...Firebird, GTO, Saleen

Hey guys...having withdrawals as I sit inside on a sub arctic day, so figured I'd share some runs I never got around to posting. For those of you who don't know I've since gotten rid of my GTO to invest in my Firebird. There was a lot I wanted to do with it and couldn't fund both toys. Anyhow, both runs were for fun between friends of mine.

Race 1: 1991 Firebird LQ4 vs 2006 GTO

Firebird is H/C LQ4. Made 435/397 at the wheels.
GTO has Shorties, full exhaust, and tune. ???HP

Race 2: This was the last run I got before selling my GTO. Made it harder for me...

2006 GTO. Intake, Long-Tubes, Tune
2000 Saleen. Tork-Tech S6 Ported eaton, 12psi (I think), longtubes, full exhaust, tune 412whp/422wtq

You against the goat doesn't surprise me, but a 412 rwhp 3400 lb Mustang that can't shake 390 rwhp 3800 lb LS2 kind of suprises me

Good runs! Anymore plans for the Bird come april? And tell you buddy with the Saleen, if he still has it, that he needs to rev that car out more. It looks like it pulls like a centri car and that just shouldnt be. Other then that. GTO surprising Mustangs like it does best

He actually weighed in at around 3600. The car has a full 04 cobra interior and a cage, along with an eaton blower/heavy adapter plate. My GTO weighed 3540 with minor weight reduction (spare, trunk brace, tool kit). Also the stang has a very peaky powerband, and loses some on the shifts as you can see. The GTO has a very flat torque curve.

Very odd for that small of a roots blower. Maybe a soft tune?

I took down a similiar saleen that made a claimed 430rwhp when I was LT/Vavaram/tune. And I'm an auto. They make there power for 300rpms, we have a texas sized torque and power curve that gives us more average power then them.

I guess I didn't realize the poweband was so narrow on the stang. That along with the fact that the GTO was a bit lighter, the outcome makes sense

my guess is its peaky from soft tuning. Since eaton blower cars arent a peaky setup... not even on an eco motor. They start the pull the strongest and make the least power at the end of the pull.

Ugh...I know man. The first snow was fun to slide around a bit, but I'm already sick of it.

Evan, already did the rims which you saw and a new shifter rod! lol. I am finally ordering the fast 92 manifold & TB next week. Then I'm just going to work on my suspension a bit. Going with coilovers and a tubular K.

You had a nice GTO and ran pretty damn good. Hate to see you got rid of it.

That would be nice! Some cars pick up better than others, so I guess we'll see.

Yea that's another color you don't see too often. A buddy of mine actually painted his third gen Spice Red. Nice color.

Thanks. It really was a tough decision. I put it on the market and then took it back off several times because I just wasn't ready. Comments like this make me really want to get into another though.
