got drug by a g35...
I finally got to race my friend now that he's got his duals on and a cai, I was surprised to say the least. Even with my traction problems I thought id have pulled on him.
His car 03 g35 coupe
Me 94 camaro a4
From a dig to about 100, sorry for the **** quality the gf needs some practice lol.

I'm catback gears and cai. Before his exhaust I pulled him good from a roll last year. He's beat a few cars I didn't think he could run with recently so idk, it's quick for what it is. I'm putting everything on hold for longtubes and a tune now.

I feel your pain! those things are surprisingly quick. I once went heads up with a g35 and we were mirror to mirror. I was shocked. I began pulling on him at the end.. I count it a victory because #1) I had no idea he wanted to race. We were at a stop sign and he floored it so I did in fact pull him in before we crossed the street. after that I was shifting for my life like wtf is going on here?? I use the term 'mirror to mirror' very literally. and #2) like I said I began pulling on him in fourth... BARELY. I do believe the only reason he wasn't ahead of me was the "driver factor"... dudes shifting wasn't horrible or anything but I put in work with my MGW that time
.. no clue if he was stock or not. I doubt it because he did look flabbergasted afterwards... lol. I've only got long tubes cat back and 4.11s.. cai also... plus the mgw shifter...what's your gear ratio?

Yea I'm sure he's untuned, he Bought it bone stock last year, I've worked on it with him so I know his mods pretty well, the true duals made waay more difference than I woulve thought.
And my gears are 4.10's. I'm pretty sure thats part of the problem too, I was spinning until half way through second and by then it was over.

Good death. Not surprised you lost, but I am surprised at how bad it was.
Those cars are mid-low 14s at ~100, stock. The stick shifts are supposed to be faster than the 5at.
He pulled you pretty hard. I know everyone jokes about the LT1... but I definitely think the reason you lost here was power.
Ever since I've seen a Focus pull on an LT1 Impala SS from a roll... I just don't know.

man I just can't believe that you have 4.11 gears. seriously, you might want to double check. It appears that you are changing out of first gear immediately after him, is that correct? what is your speed at 60mph in drive with torque converter locked up?
I've driven in a 4.11 geared, shorty headers/catback/tune/cai 1994 LT1 and it reminds me of my GTO right now: even with sticky tires there is so little traction/control it's all you can do just to make it safely and efficiently into 2nd gear lol.

My understanding, Focus weighs like 3k lbs, makes 160hp. Impala SS weighs 4k lbs, makes 260hp. Race was close, with Focus winning. I got one of the runs on vid. Was told they ran again, and Focus beat him worse 2nd time.
