Default '98 Camaro Z28 vs '99 Corvette C5

This friend of mine which currently owns the C5 now had a 2008 Charger R/T. I spanked him a couple of times on his R/T. So he finally decided to become one of us, LS member lol.

He said he was gonna spank me with his C5 and blah blah blah. So we ran the cars a couple of times and this was the outcome.

Both cars are automatic and bone stock, in most of the races I had a passenger with me who weighs around 225 lbs

Nice runs! I would've thought it would've been the other way around

Nice runs, but there is something wrong with that corvette. I can see the Z28 edging it, but that is destruction. That is like a 14 second C5.

Thanks man. I was thinking of getting some headers and a tume for the car. Will I see big improvements from the tune due to it being an automatic?

My car gained 4 WHP from a tune after I put on ls6 intake and full exhaust over stock tune. Only thing I gained from tune was the codes being turned off so I could get the car tuned

That's what the passenger said lol. We're both 19 years old and ever since he got that Corvette he's been so cocky, so I think he deserved to get beat by me haha

Is yours a manual or automatic?
Because I've heard that the automatics gain more improvements. Like downshifting points. With my stock tune if I go with a 30mph+ roll the car won't downshift to 1st.

A tune along with headers will make a pretty good improvement. My buddy went from 13.4 at 104 to 12.9 at 108 with just a tune, headers and ORY

Yes a tranny tune helps quite a bit. Pulling some torque management out or just about all of it like I have. Bump up the line pressure a bit for quicker firmer shifts.

I thought all that would happen in my tune too. It did not.

I want to get American Racing headers with the high flow cats, will that fit the rest of my stock exhaust?
I've only gone to the track once and ran my car 3 times in the 1/8 mile. My best was 8.7xx @82 I believe. What would that be in the 1/4 mile?

What headers do you have?
Do you have your stock and after dyno numbers?
