lt1 has my vote...with his mods, he should put down about 290 ish whp on a dyno jet? Maybe less? I have seen a couple bolt on d1sc lt1's put down just over 415 whp. Both are 6 speeds so no advantage there, other than your gearing. With your mods, you [I]should be at 400 whp. Either way i predict a damn good race! Post the vid when done.
Also...what gear are you guys running from?
The thing that will problably decide the race is who gets traction...What kind of tires are yuo both running?

I raced an LT1 (95 TA 6-speed) that had LT's and a few other bolt-on's and a 75 shot BEFORE I had LT's and LS6 intake and we were pretty much dead even on several highway roll runs, but I was actually slightly pulling. We had a couple of quick races from a stop and he took me off the line briefly but than I stopped his pull immediately and seemed to be regaining ground before shutting down. We pulled over and talked for like a half hour. he wouldn't give up on disbelieving my limited mods. At the same time I was in disbelief how fast his car was (or possibly how slow mine was) before he finally revealed he was spraying about 15 minutes after we pulled over. He finally said alright alright I gotta be honest and he went over and hit the purge and i was like son of a bitch, lol. He couldn't believe all i had was a couple of minor bolt-on's...honestly i was surprised myself as I thought he would surely beat me with LT's and a 75 shot.
Anyhow, thats my experience with racing an LT1

hey man, dont get me wrong....if i had a nickel for every lt1 car ive beaten, id have a dollar at least. Fact of the matter is is no two cars are the same. You take out an lt1 w/ headers on a 75 shot, and id say for your mods you have one badass ls1. He may not have had a bottle heater and there can be other factors, but nice kill regardless. The matter at hand tho is comparing a bolt on n20 TA to a bolt on d1sc z28. The 1993 may have an advantage over other FI due to speed density. Ls1 may have an advantage due to his wet shot. Its hard to say either way who will win based on the information provided. Mullet guy makes no reference to the lt1 being intercooled, and if it inst, then the ls1 will rape the lt1 car (provided it doesnt explode into a fury of detonation). Is the LT1 car being dyno tuned? And if so, what kind of timing are they pulling out of it? Fuel ratio is also a big factor. Do either cars have any supporting suspension mods I.E. sub frame connectors, lower control arms, beefy rearends. If the lt1 car is non intercooled or is intercooled but not getting dyno tuning, the ls1 will most likely win. If the Lt1 car has the twin intercoolers, 42# injectors, and dyno tuning, then i think it will be a fuggin awesome race, but i leave it to traction and how well both of the cars run. Either way you it, both you guys have badass cars, but in the end, i think the lt1 with the breather will prevail.

the LT1 did 281 rwhp/315 rwtq before the blower......its supposed to be getting dyno tuned in the next week or so. the shop thats doing it claims they will get him 450 rwhp out of it but i have been hearing of LT1s frying rings with over 400 on boost.....
