12 point ticket for watching?
Well tonight or well this morning...i got a ticket for watching street racing...my buddies timing adjuster...well came off his 96 mustang....and couldnt go over 35 mph....so we went out where we had a friend who could tow us...there was one race...which i didnt even get to see...when all of the sudden cops show up and tell us we are all getting tickets.
So I am getting a ticket for aiding and abetting in street racing...i think is B.S. but only time will tell go to court july 13th...well what do you guys think...

yea id check into that ticket, points should be for moving violations, although I have heard watching street racing can be a huge ticket also.
fight it in court as you are, especially if you didnt do anything(you just went to tow someone?)
If you lose in informal court then appeal it and get a lawyer, if your persistant enough it will eventually go away. and if it is 12 points then that lawyer will definately be cheaper (imagine insurance after 12 points)

oh my....get that lawyer for sure.
Yes, it's a big fine to watch, but never should there be points involved.
I guess they change the law whenever they feel like it, lol.

Get a lawyer. I got thrown in jail one time for street racing and got it dropped down to speeding but I was racing going around 110 on a old back street we got surrounded and there was no way out choppers and all. So I gave up. But I had to go to court 3 times and got it dropped to speeding and ended up paying about 600 but you werent even racing and I think that is BS

I don't think that the officer can give traffic violations for something like that... WHAT THEY CAN GIVE IS CITATIONS. I got one for having a blue neon light in my car on the front grille. He gave me a citation for impersonating a police officer, but the truth was that I smarted off to him. That is why I got the ticket. I am sure that spectators in street racing get arrests (citations) instead of traffic tickets...

i got a ticket for being in the same parking lot as some as*shole in a bmw doing donuts. we all got tickets but no points on the licsense. my friends dad is a statey and he said it counts as an arrest (i just pleaded guilty and paid the fine) the others fought and got off with no ease. i never heard a peep from the insurance company either.

All street racign tickets are "open for interpretation". they change the damn laws every 2 months. A fellow Syclone owner here got a street racing ticket even though the cop admitted there was no one to race. He had to get a lawyer to get out of it, which he did, but it cost him 2K. They just changed the law again to say that it counts as street racing if your racing by yourself, they count that as racing the clock.
