Z06 Vs. Lambo Countach
In a race against a Lambo Countach vs. a Supercharged Z06 who would win?
Sorry this may be the wrong section but my friend thinks a Countach with a 0-60 of like 3.4 seconds and $500,000 could smoke a 700whp Z06
and also for being so immature. My therory is with 700 hp the Z06 could stomp anything on the road for about 50k (car and mods)... lol thanks for the feedback

actually, I know a family that has a procharged Z06 and two lambo's....
The zo6 would devastate the lambo (assuming the Z06 was more than 550 rwhp)...period.
Lambo Countach's were not all that fast, low 12's I believe, MAYBE 11's at the best. A stock Z06 driven correctly can run neck and neck with a Lambo Countach.

Yeah I was about to say Countachs would be a good run for a stock LS1. They have decent top nd on them but thats all, not fast by todays standards.

Exactly. Countach's were built for top speed, not top acceleration. Low 13's is about the best that was managed out of them. Great for their day, but nowadays there are tons of cars that can hang with one down the 1/4.
Even with their "good, not great" for today performance stats by supercar standards, the Countach is still an absolutely incredible machine.

When I read the title i was thinking to myself, dear god a Z06 will rape a Countach. Than when I read that we are talking about a supercharged Z06 I had to laugh. That's like asking if a Viper would beat a nissan altima.
As other have stated they were 13 second cars WHEN they were new. Unless the cars runs good as new it will likely be even slower. Most stock Fbod's would take one.
All due respect to the Countach though, its a timeless beauty that I am sure has adorned many of our bedroom walls growing up. It's just like an aging prize fighter that you gotta give respect too but obviously can't step in the ring with today's champs.

Guys, a Lambo Countach is a high 13 to 14 second car and has no prayer against a stock Z06 from a roll let alone a 700rwhp supercharged one. The Z06 could go half throttle and still beat it. if it goes full throttle it will put bus-lengths on it in no time. Do you guys have any idea how fast a 700rwhp Z06 will be on the highway?? How in the world can you say it could possibly be a good fight from a roll. You might as well line up that 700rwhp Z06 with a bone stock LT1. Cars are not even remotely in the same league.
I always remember this scene in Cannonball run where the Countach is on the highway and it guns it passing some cars and you can see an aerial view and its not very fast.
As far as them claiming 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, well either they are full of it or did some serious work to the car. I just assumed you would leave a Countach stock if you had one. If its highly modded well than you never know.

And your right: I had, and still have, many posters, models, personal pictures, and books/documentaries on the Countach. It, and the Testarossa, were the cars that got me into cars back in the '80's.
