Default 03 - 04 Cobra Power

Guys,

What I am looking for is about how much power would a cobra make with 15 pounds, good exhaust and tuning? I have a young man that was told he would be making 470 - 490. I know that the car is making over 400 but not that much. The car ran the 1/4 with a bad 60 at only 117 which is poor for a 470 RWHP. Give me your thoughts.

I would like to just have #'s and your thoughts only.

When i had the un ported blower which is what i believe you are refering to in your post i made 455 rwhp & 492 lb/ft Tq at the boost level you specified..2.76 upper diameter pulley. My best MPH was 122

That sounds about right for 15 PSI cause mine is right around 485 RWHP with 14. These things are a bitch to launch so if he's not up to snuff, the ET's gonna suck. There's many a Cobra out there that can't turn a fast slip, even with more HP than that.

Back when I had an Eaton (unported), I made 460-470rwhp or so at 14psi with CAI and exhaust. Best time was 11.29 @ 123mph if I recall correctly. It's been a long time since then.

With CAI, 2.76 pulley (about 14#'s of boost), midpipe (stock catback), and a custom tune I was running mid 11's at 122. It was never on the dyno with that setup.

The Eaton (blue lines on graph) was unported (14 psi):

Basic bolt-ons and tune only. Typical traps were 117-118, although I did see 120-122 in good air a few times. Car weighed just shy of 3900 with me in it.

Typical bolt-on, pulleyed Cobras with unported Eatons make 450-485 SAE with a decent tune. My $0.02.

Unless he had a horrible and i mean HORRIBLE first 330' then a 117 trap is more like 410 horse. I believe they do 113 stock so definatly somethign wrong there. My bud has one jsut liek what you are askin about and makes 464 RWHP. He did have stock cats adn i believe thqat is a major bottle neck for those cars. He did have a aftermarket catback though. Cya
