a neighbor girl just bought a 99 TA A4 convertible used with SLP lid, Reaction Exhaust and SLP maf, 245 tires

Her and her boyfriend are convinced she can beat my car in a race a, 2001 z28 m6, slp lid, flowmaster exhaust + cutout, slp maf, CAI, LCA, ported TB,
LS6 heads, factory LS6 intake, 275 nittos, pulley, Pro 5.0 shifter with angle short stick.

Just by looking at the mods you know my car would pull, but her and her bf are pesistant in saying her car is faster and her bf keeps telling her to buy
a chip for it, that it will increase her HP by 35hp and you do is plug it in. UHT UM BULLSHIT....

anyways I tried telling her what you can do with an ls1, bought mods and freeby mods and what are the local shops and which forums to check out,
but nope she wont listen.

So now I come to find out that her and her bf ran the car at the local drag track, Union grove(great lake drag). She said he was beating camaros and mustangs
all day and his fastest time was a 14.4 in the 1/4 mile.

Just dumb I cant stand people that just dont listen. Its sad cause they are going to mod this car and ruin it, by not listening and it is a clean/nice car.

I know most ls1 can stay in the 13s but what about a 99 TA is the 14.4 time slow or fast?

I'm trying to decide, do I school them cause I know my car runs 12s or do i not waste the gas, and just watch a nice TA go to ****!!!

I would give them a nice *** whooping it might clean the **** out of their ears and make them listen up. But some people just like to be ******** she may never race you. I know a guy with an 82 or something Camaro POS that is convinced that his car is faster than mine but he is always "too busy" with no job to race.... Just take comfort in knowing your in the 12s and they will probably not see 13s anytime soon

I agree with James. Just take them to the track and show them what a real car can do. He is obviously a mustang fan because he thinks a 14.4 is fast. A friend of mine is the same way. He bought a lightning thinking it would beat my camaro. Talking all kinds of **** then ran a 14.8 at the track. "But it pulls so hard it should have beat me." The problem with my friend is that it is one of the fastest cars he's been in so he thinks its hot ****. Take your neighbor for a ride at the track and after he's holding on for dear life, he'll understand what fast is.

same thing i do....most people dont wanna lose a race plus lose some cash....if it was my neighboor id wait for them to pull out of their driveway and follow them until i had a chance to own them....but even then u would probably get some bullshit excuse to why they lost....these people just sound like complete idiots....to the point of where they dont even deserve an f-body....but if u get the chance

lol My friends '99 Vert A4 ran 13.6 @ 105 with a 2.1 '60 on street tires with only free mods loudmouth lid and bellows... who ever drove needs to sell that car to me and buy a honda.....

I had the same problem (for a little while) in my town....this kid in a 5.0LX 5speed with some bolt ons revvin at me all the time. We were supposed to run 3 time and every time he backed out for various reasons. Well I finally caught him in traffic going the same way and followed him around for about a 1/2 hr and he went by the highway and I pulled up next to him and pointed in that direction. He had a buddy w/him so he couldn't back down. Well I beat him and he no longer revs - he waves now. Problem solved. Sorry to hi-jack this thread but thought I would show there are dumb people in every town!

14.4 is horrible for any track. The times in my sig are from GLD, I'll second that it doesn't hook very well. Eventually this guy will have to race you if he keeps talking.

Sounds like a couple of guys in the 509(a sister unit up here in alaska) they drive a mazda speed miata and a 300 lexus. I jumped in when i was a couple cars back at the light to the hyway. they decided to challenge the other and i wuped both of them I have only exsaust right now(moneys tight) I say you should just take them first chance you get man

I had some pretty good times at GLD as well. Did a best of 1.6 60 foot in my WS6 with BFG DRs and a 3500 stall, only other mods at the time were lid/catback. Went 12.6s at that mod level at GLD.....
