White T/A in PA...
I didn't get a chance to explain what happened, and in the name of sportsmanship, if you're on here, I wanted to let you know what happened....
I was driving around looking for fun, not trying to pick "easy" wins, but I was on my way home and I watched a white T/A go by me so I made a little detour and caught up to him. It was a 99ish??? T/A (definately LS1, just not sure what year, not that it really matters), VERY CLEAN. It sounded badass, so I just figured it had exhaust. We couldn't really catch a light because cars kept getting in one lane, while he was in the other.
So a couple lights up, he took off at the light with me behind him. I rolled out in first, shifted second, and watched as he pulled me. I than mashed the pedal, spun, let off, hit it again and took off (mt ET Street Radials). By the time I hit 3rd I was right behind him, than blew by him, almost like he wasn't giving it any gas . I short shifted to 4th, than got HARD on the brakes (almost didn't stop, letting on and off the brake peddle, damn it smelled).
I got in to the turning lane, trying to get you to follow me in. The driver yelled, "Damn, that's FAST!". The light turned green and he slowly drove off. So I pulled in the parking lot and turned my bottled off, and came here to type this lame, poorly written recap of my ride.
So here is what I wanted to tell you, so that you don't think that a stock cobra could do that to you . BTW, I noticed at the light that the trans am seemed BONE STOCK (it didn't even have exhaust )
My power mods are...
2.76 pulley (roughly 14-15#'s of boost)
O/R Xpipe
Magnaflow catback
cai
and the winger...my .078 jet was in tonight, roughly a 200 shot.
So I know it wasn't fair, but I wanted to let you know what was done to my car if you read these boards! AGain, that's one clean *** ride you have! I wish I could keep my car half as clean as you have yours

I bet that bastard hits like a freight train. I know a 100shot on the KB sure does. Nothing like running a full 3 seconds faster than your opponent.

I'd really like to hear the LS1 owner's side of the story.

You should bump up the power level the motor/blower produces and decrease the amount of nitrous you're spraying. It'll last a lot longer and make the same power. Torque will drop of course. It's your car though.

He was probably out looking for me
It's about time you got a run Steve
It'll be a Sunday morning cruise in the Vette this week, Saturday morning will be the TA.
I just want to check out the inside of your car 1st, I hear it is nice.
"What, I wasn't turning anything!!!"

the ls1's side of the story would a little something like this....
so i pull up to this o3 cobra and figure id toy with him a little...i have such and such done so id probably blow him out of the water. so we get rollin from a light and i figured we'd go from 2nd gear...i hit the gas about the same time he did only 1 problem....i saw nothing but black smoke and he was no where to be seen. gave a new meaning to getting smoked..****** thing was insanely fast..i got played..oh well, time to go pick on some unsuspecting 99 cobra owner.
steve...stop pickin on guys slower than you...poor T/A guy.

11.6@122 on the blower only tune

11.4@125 on the 30 shot (nick ran 10.80@128 with a ported blower and 30 shot, I think it was only a 30 shot at least, FULL weight)

And congratulations on your 10.80, maybe I'll take all the weight of my car, put some skinnies up front, and put the .031 jet back in . BTW, didn't you have a high compression built shortblock, huge cam in that car, not to mention heads?? I don't recall me or nick ever even touching the LONGblocks....

Nick is a very good driver.
I am no slouch, but Nick ran my 03 Cobra with just cai and catback to a 12.35@115.4 powershifting on his 2nd try on street tires compared to my 12.48@114.89 granny shifting, but I had a few tries and it was my car.
Figure his driving is worth AT LEAST 1/10 against a good driver.
