Race outcome Some of you may recall a post I made about an old dude with a 95 Firehawk saying he'd blow the doors of my LS1.
Well this weekend was the local car show, and guess who was parked 2 cars down from me, yep you guessed it, Mr Firehawk. He saw mine and immediatly started with his **** talking, well to cut down the length of this novel I got a buddy to open the gate to the old strip, and challenged him in front of his little group of friends (bet him $100 I'd beat him by at least 2 cars)
We all rolled out there, and set up, he's over next to me revving the motor (have to admit that LT1 sounds better) while the starter gets between us, down goes the flag, and we're off, he gets me out of the hole, spun on the launch, grabbed traction, hammered 2nd, barked the tires, and was gaining ground quick, hit 3rd, and it was over for him, left him like he missed a shift (his is auto so no chance of a missed shift), by the time I hit 4th he was at least 3 cars behind.
We both shut down at the finish line and turned onto the pit road. We got back to the start, and he was pretty quiet, so were his group of friends. He comes over to my car, digs out a $100, and says guess I was wrong about those, good race man, damn fast car and gave me a

gotta love it when a race just comes together. Good plot, good story, even some character development. Don't be embarrased to make a novel either, i like a read with a happy ending.

Yep both pretty much stock, I've got a lid, catback, shifter, and some SFCs
He has a catback, and that's it
Now he wants to try me in his "real" car (heard thru my buddy I got the gate key from)
79 T/A with a 408 SBC forged internals, Aluminum heads, blah, blah, blah, if it's as bad *** as he says, it's not going to be pretty for the LS1, maybe a 100 hp shot of giggle gas will even it up
He has a catback, and that's it

you never know he was bragging about his lt-1 like it was the ****. you might show him up again.

True, but I talked a little with the guy who relayed the message, and it's not just smack talking, that motor is bad ***, built by one of the local engine builders who primarily builds circle track race engines, so he knows what he's doing. If it's the engine he's thinking it is, it's pushing 450-500 hp, so my little 300 (or so) hp LS1 is gonna have its work cut out for it.
I can only hope he f*cks up the launch, and I can hold him off on the top end, but we'll see, we're trying to arrainge it for this weekend, so I'll post the results when it goes down.

Good kill man. At least he was cool about the $100.00 most people are not like that when they loose money. Everyone who has and LT1 and then an LS1 knows the difference. I beleive everyone on here has had both. Keep spankin those LT1's.

Yeah I'm just gonna have some fun with this, if hes got to bring out this much firepower to sooth his ego, then hes got some issues.
This is kinda like hunting deer with an M1 Abrams, you get the job done, but it's not much of a challenge
