Default So how fast are these Stage 2 SRT 4s

I was talking to one of my buddies he has an srt-4, he was tellin me about his friend that was getting stage 2 installed on his srt-4. He then said with stage 2 it could probably keep up with you in the 1/4 mile. But, It would definetly pull onyou from a roll. He told me Stage 2 srt-4's run mid 12s at 115 mph. I was skeptical, Because I did not think they were that fast. Then I asked him how fast Stage 3 srt-4s were he said they trap 130-140 in the 1/4 mile. So is he exaggerating greatly about stage 2 and 3 srt-4s or are they really that fast?

Default Srt-4 stage 2

13.3's maybe 105 with good driver .On a roll if your car is an a4 he would jump a little but I think you would still reel him back in.

Default srt-4

Now those I have seen them dip into the 11's on little slicks, on a roll they are fast but nothing that a little dope wouldn't fix if you go that route.I don't know exactly what they trap but if I had to guess I would say 114 if thy are running high 11s.If thy ran with tires, even a stage 4 would be low to mid twelves. 130 mph I doub't it .

the times he gave you seem a bit optomistic but I wouldn't take him lightly is he was stage 2. If he can drive he will give you a lot better run than you think.... from a roll of course. lol

My friend has an SRT-4 that's upgraded to the hilt (he works at AGP turbo or some place like it and gets all his parts for a discount). Anyways, he got in a pissing match online with some guy and long story short decided to race a "fast car on video" to prove how fast his SRT was.

So he calls me up one night and tells me to meet him for little race on the freeway from ~65mph roll (where he has every possible advantage over me) and even with craploads of problem with my clutch and nitrous system, I still handed it to him pretty badly (IMO).

When my car was bone stock except a lid we were dead even from a roll, and I don't know how equal from a dig (only time I ever raced him from one I f'ed up big time and spun for about 3-4 seconds, eliminating my advantage).

My friend says Stage _ SRT's are actually worse than non "upgraded" ones. You should be ok.

I went snooping around the SRT forums to do some research. To say he is exaggerating is an understatement. Stage 2's are not even considered worth it because improvements are barely noticeable...usually high 13's @ 98 from low 14's stock, and that's with race gas button on. Pump gas still in the 14's. Stage 3's are the ones to watch out for. High 12's with pump gas and mid 12's @ 113 with race gas.

My buddy has a stage 2 w/turbo toys and last year he was running 12.87@110 he was on DR's. I can't remember what his 60's were i think around 1.9. He slapped a 50 shot on it and ran 12.22@114mph but that was on pump gas, less timing an all that jazz. Has he been able to run race gas w/slicks and everything easy 11's.

I just went to Srtforums.com. I am not sure where he got mids 12s on stage 2 b/c here is a list of stage 2 cars from there site:
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56167
Most are in 13s with an unimpressive MPH. I really doubt a stage 2 could keep uo with me even from a roll. Unless its got NOS. My car should clock over 110 in the 1/4 mile so I think I still got the advantage from a roll. Stage 3's are more in my league:

High 12's are NOT typical of stage 2's.

Here is a list of stage 2 cars from srt forums. Most barely in the 13's.

Edit: Sorry Cgillies beat me to it.

I've raced a few stage 2 SRT-4's in my Vararam / Corsa C5 coupe. Walked them pretty damned hard each time (4+ cars at 120ish).

It depends on who is driving and what other mods are there supporting the stage II... and how the owner tuned the car.

A local guy ran a 12.9@113 with Stage II, on stock 6.5 inch wheels and tires. He had it dialed in really good. Full exhaust, timing tricking device, bigger frount mount IC, hard pipes for the turbo.. .etc etc etc....

Then again there is a stage II only car that only did a 13.8... so driver has alot to do with it too.

A good tune with basic exhaust supporting mods, I would see a stage II srt being a great match for a stockish LS1 car. and who cares about the roll... thats not a race!

That same Stage II car I was talking about, is now running a stage III setup and is running an 11.99 @ 122mph.

There is one SRT close to 10's.... 11.0X.... its a california shop car.

Just race him so he'll nod his head and say..."I was wrong." I don't mean to jack the thread, but here goes. I have a good friend with a stock 2004 SRT4. We used to road race 3 to 5 days a week out around palm springs (mountains) Anyway, we were cruising around 29 palms and he raced a 2003 Stage 2 srt. He got wasted. I was following and watched the whole thing. I pull in to the car wash and we all introduced ourselves and they talked about the race. The guy said "I've raced all kinds of cars and haven't been beat yet. I think I have the fastest car in town." I'm just standing there grinning like an idiot and my friend, Joe, looks at me and says, "Maybe you two should race." We agreed. I'll give the guy credit, he wanted to go from a dig. More power to him for that. It was a dead even race until I banged 2nd gear. I had time to shut down, get out, and light a cigarette when he pulled in with the same idiotic grin I had before and told me what a bad *** car I had. I said thanks, and we all had dinner. See, we can all get along.

You a lil off in you MPH for stage 3:
2003 srt4

mopar borla exhaust
maxxfabb downpipe with cat
iceman throttlebody
spearco large fmic

Toys
99.6 oct (not high enough octane. would go out of Hi-oct around 80mph)
DAB 3
IC Sprayer on
stock tires
BDJs 3" dump
stock plugs gapped at .35
ran 13.39 @ 107
best MPH 108
best 60ft 2.34

stage 3 no toys new times
Stage 3
Borla
Maxxfabb downpipe with cat
Iceman Throttlebody
K&N fipk
Spearco FMIC
Rage lower control arm bushings
M&H slicks 24x8.5
Peg leg
12.55 at 109.7
Best mph 114
Best 1/8 mile 8.1
Best 1/8 mph 90.6
Best 60 ft- 1.89

These were just a few stage 3's taken off of this page:http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98998

As for stage 2's looks like to me most are 13s at <105, albeit there are a few with better than than but the majority fall it to that times listed above. Most stock LS1 cars should be able to beat the "average" stage 2 srt-4 from a dig or a roll.
