03 lightning
I am supposed to race my buddies lightning to night he runs 12.80 pretty consistantly at the track and the best i ran so far at the track was a 13.2 but now i have a new manifold on and new nitto drags do u think this is going to be close or is it possible for me to edge him out. This is a street race so its more my territory he also has nittos to. Whats ur opinion? am i gunna get worked by this for?

put the nitto's at 16-18 lbs and fry the nitto's for an HONEST 7 mississippi's. then launch the *** out of your car and i think you'll get him. reaction time is key in a street race also, make sure you are dead on when the light changes/hands drop.

From the street races i've seen, stock 03/04 lightnings just about equal the times of bone stock A4 LS1 cars equipped with 2.73s. The LS1 pulles on the top end though, and with those drags it's very possible that you could take the jump, and keep it there.

Wow...subframes connectors...i know a LOT of ppl who miss out on this mod. Props to you, if more ppl had em' less doors would need adjustment...
BTW. Those lightnings can be beasts, we had one with Nitto 555 (non-drag) at the dealership and it had a chip/pully. Even after we took said mods off (because of an incident out GSM's son had...hint.hint. blown motor...) the truck would still light em up at 55mph on the downshift. If you jump him and can stay ahead till 80, you should take him, but anywhere under 80, that thing might just reach out and catch you. All in all though, I think you SHOULD win unless its driver error, remember, all he has to do is plant the gas.
