Default SS vs SVT LIGHTNING

A couple of days ago a guy from my work comes in and tells ther rest of us how
he got beat in his 03 gt by a lighning truck! It was only a couple of car lenghts from 50 to 130 on the highway but boy was he bummed. Fast forward a couple of days till 8:30ish this morning. I'm on my was to the store for a paper and I see this black truck with SVT on the back of it and think, "that would be cool if we catch a light". Traffic wont co-operate so I wind up behind him in a long turn lane. I see him get on it pretty good and figure there might be a chance. We get to the next two lights, the second is my turn to the store, and I of course avoid the turn lane for obvious reasons. The light turns green and I'm thinking I'll let him jump first so he nails it hard but we have another light a couple of hundred feet ahead so I wait. Gave him the nod at the next light and smile !! Light goes green and I ease the clutch out waiting for him to stand on it first. He hammers it about 10mph and I stand on the SS, running it up to the red line and taking him at least two cars. Speed shift into 2nd and the SS gets all squirrely even with the traction control for a moment. The peddal bobbles , I hook up and put at least another 1 1/2 to 2 on him. Took 2nd gear a bit too far, 80ish? and btw I hope that was a rev limiter I felt, let out of it and slowed to the next light. I asked him "is that thing supercharged" just to get the convo going and he sais "yea, it was spinning quite a bit" I told him "pretty quick truck you've got" He was gracious as was I and I went to the store with a big .

Does the guy from work have anything down to his GT? Good Kill to you. Fairly easy to make those Lightning's contenders w/ any LS1 modded or other wise. I've been fortunate to take down a few in my day.

I'm shure his gt is stock. I'm betting its horrifying to get beat by a truck no matter what the circumstances though. If youre the one driving the lightning though you always have "hey man, its a truck" line to use.

My favorite line was "What are you afraid of a V6?" but I never got races in my Sy.

My buddies is 8.1 in the 1/8th. If he put a stall in that think it would be rediculous.

My roomates' 99 z went 8.0's on street tires, loudmouth, 3.73, lid, & programmer. I dont see whats so impressive about these trucks. Syclones are the only fast trucks worth owning imo.

Ford lightnings are awesome! A stock SS vs a stock or slightly modded Lightning will have its hands full thats for sure. They are both nice vehicles, therefore both deserving respect
