Me vs 01Roush(stg2) & 96GT. What's the Outcome?
Well a few days ago I came across a few old highschool friends at the mall( damn christmas shopping). Well after talking for a bit I come to find out that they all drive stangs. For some reason most of my old friends drive Mustangs. Well last night, two of them came to my house saying that they are going to go out and look for some car to race. They stopped by my house to see if I wanted to be the first kill of the night,WTF!!! I would have gone, but I had alot of things to do and wanted to get started installing my KooKs and Exhaust. So I told them that maybe next weekend!
So this is the info that I find out from one of thier friends( also a stang driver). The 01 Roush has: CAI, Gears, Exhaust, Header, and I think said a pulley. The Stage II Roush is just a GT with a body kit and wheels, am I right? I know that it's not super-charged. The 96GT has CAI, Exaust, Gears, and aftermarket shifter. He told me that I should be able to take them, even If I was stock. Should I worry about any of the two?
Oh yeah, My car is an Auto and both stangs are Stick-shift. And they both have big windshield stickers, last time I checked in the Ricer Street Racing Handbook, that was like 20hp or something like that.
* thanks guys in advance for all the input!

Stage II this is what I found.
The Stage 2 adds a serious suspension package that includes Bilstein shocks, higher-rate springs, new lower control arms, beefy antiroll bars front and rear and 18-inch alloy wheels (9 inches wide in front and 10 inches wide in back) wrapped in aggressive rubber. The stout BFGoodrich Comp TA doughnuts spec out at 265/35ZR18 at the front and 295/35ZR18 out back and, combined with the suspension upgrade, allow nearly 1.0 g in lateral acceleration, according to Roush. To put that into perspective, consider that this is a level of grip that supercars, such as a Porsche 911 Turbo, exhibit.
All this crap will make him hook for ****. The better a car curves, the worse it hooks, as a rule of thumb. I think you should have him, but if he is running 4.10's and full no-cats exhaust along with pullies, dont expect to completely murder him.

The Roush has cats, from what his friend told me. How about the 96? is it a no contest? What would be the best way to race them, dig/roll. They are also not the best drivers as i have been told.
Oh yeah I have a set of MT DR's sittin in the garage. Would I need those? I have Fuzion Zri's on the car right now.

Neither of those stangs will win. You'll beat them pretty easily, roush 1 and 2's are just glorified GT's with some nifty side exhaust, suspension, and body cladding depending on what stage whoopie . Maybe he has under drive pullies or something that could be what he meant by pulley? Tell the one with the 96 he's not even worth your gas, and tell the one with the roush you'll gladly beat the **** outta his over priced GT . Unless their supercharged or spraying those are easy wins.

Dont worryt youll murder them both the 96 is still a slug prob pushing out an xtra 20-30HP my friend has a 04 GT with the same mods with 3:73 gears and he made 253RWHP on the dyno and ran a 13.9 by the skin of his teeth on street tires!Dont get me wrong the newer 4.6 engines respond well to intake and exhaust but they will lose breath around 60-70 mph no match for a stock perfectly good condtion LS1!

You should have no problems with either really. My G/F has an 01 Roush 5-speed..and that things a dog. I mean its hard to compare it to my WS.6 cuz im modded..but even in my buddys only lid, auto, ws.6..he had no problems at all.

You should beat them with no problem. Just to be safe though I would put an APC giant aluminium wing on the back just in case. That will be your ace in the hole . That should knock at least a half a second off your 1/4 mile times.

Hey man, I had a 97 GT and it is only rated at 215hp stock. The heads are not PI heads (Performance Improved), which started in 99. You should spank the sheet out of both the stangs. The only way you would lose is if you didn't show up! Have fun and be safe!!

You shouldnt have a problem with the 96 gt. I ran one that was a stick and only had flowmasters and I walked him pretty bad. If the roush isnt the supercharged version, which you said you dont think it is, it shouldnt be much of a race either. Performance wise its basically a gt with a more free flowing exhaust with a bunch of suspension mods, but I cant see the wheels and body kit making the car any lighter so it shouldnt be a tough race. I really like the roush's though, nice looking stangs.
