Default Regal GS vs. Trans Am

Safe to say, driver error??

http://www.tripleplate.com/forum//showthread.php?t=614

On the street anything can happen. This is probably how some guys "kill an LS1 fbody."

A GS can kill an F-body. I've seen it happen. Those blown FWD grandpa sleds can run low 13's easily with a few mods.

As for the TA in the vid.

I belive these have the same motor at the GTP- can be made very fast with minimal mods.

yes they have the same engine as the GTP. they can be very fast. Although I don't know what the hell was wrong with that guy in the Trans Am. I don't think he knew how to drive a RWD let alone control one under hard aceleration.

Very sweet!

I'd be that it's a HUGE sleeper then.

I doubt anyone would look at that car and expect it to run 12's.

yeh, uh huh...rwhp? sure... (FWD car buddy, sorry) over at fullthrottlev6.com we've got a 10 second GS and quite a few other fast (11-10 second) w-bodies.

The Regal GS's are actually a better car to mod then the GTP's because their a couple hundred pounds lighter, and their definately more of a sleeper.

I have a white one for a daily driver. Pretty quick, but not an F-body.

The GS is lighter?

Seems odd, I'd have figured it would've been the "luxury" version, i.e. more weight.

my brother has a 98 GS, smaller pully, intake, exhaust and that thing runs STRONG. For the v6 that it is. Rolling at 20mph it'll break both loose. We doubled the sc psi with the mods. She's now running mid 14. The GTP's are faster stock though, the engine programming is different than the regal. There some guy on a regal board that downloaded gtp programmnig into his regal and said it made a world of difference. I tried this on my brothers, but the body control module wouldn't take the info.

I am pretty sure the Regal is heavier.

I had a similiar experience though not as bad! I raced this Lt1 trans am from a stop and I must have had something on my tires because I fished tail a whole lot, and this was when my car was stock!

I like how the people on the other forum are clueless as to why is fishtailed. Every now and then if I stomp on it and the tires give out...the rear will kick out like that. this guy was probably dumb..he probably hammered it..started to fishtail and then left off..which shifted all the weight to the front making the rear light and then he probably counter steered which would make him fishtail more.
