ws6 vs. lotus espirit???
i was cruisin in davenport running errands and i notice this sweet little black car. i thought ferrari at first and just wanted to get a look at the car. don't see to many high end imports around here. i switch lanes and follow him to a parking lot and get out to ask the guy about the car, and he's a real snob. long story short, he won't race me but i thought it would have been sweet first street race even if he was faster than me. oh well i guess i'll keep looking for my first race!

I have a friend who owns one and it's a mid 13 second car. You should be able to take one if the driver isn't that great as they are really tricky to get off of the line without either bogging the engine or spinning the tires too much.

I raced one with my 02' Camaro SS A4 from a dig and then rolling at 30 MPH and I pulled about 2 to 3 cars on him both times. I had a lid and a cutout when I raced it.

They just Esprit, they never siad which one. The latter GT and GT3 cars the 2.2 V4 Turbo and where fairly rapid considering their age of design and bhp level.
But most of the later ones where the V8 variant, with a 3.5 llitre turbo unit with 350bhp. These are very fast, but yes tricky to launch. The stripped out GT350 was even quicker. The biggest downer is the Renault gearbox they use (only one that fits in the transmission tunnel).

Well it depends if it was a V8 or a I4. I4's are 13 sec cars stock but not the V8's. Although they are very difficult to launch. Just for reference, my Esprit V8 has pulled on cars that trapped 119 in the 1/4 and a Lambo Gallardo.

Bah, you just need to go back to 70% throttle.

You may take him in a straight line, but if he's smart he'll take it to a curvy road. Lotus is a hard manufacturer to beat in the twisties. I remember a video I saw of a Elise chasing a Vette around Nurenburg, and the Vette would pull way ahead on the straights, but as soon as a curve came up the Elise was right back on it's tail.
That's what you get with a car that weigh's about half of what yours does.

I raced one in 2004. (Esprit TT) It still had paper tags on it. My car at the time was around 340rwhp and I only walked him by 2 cars from 70 to 150. Even in triple digits, he didn't stop my pull. It was a cool race, because the race was his idea, and he said he was gonna destroy me.
