Default 1993 Mustang GT 5.0

Hey guys, great site here. I got a 93 gt and I was wondering, will h/c/i be enough with bolt ons to beat an ls1? My buddy doesnt think it'll make much hp being a 302 and all. Thanks.

What's done to the LS1? With the right combo, maybe.

Say a 2001 stock ss. All the ls1's around my neighborhood are driven by old guys. All stock pretty much. In Canada only old people can afford them.
For example. You cant find an SS from '96-'02 for less than 20,000can$ no matter what.

If you get gears along with the h/c package that is pretty aggresive, yeah. But it will be close.

on this guys other thread "answer this ? maggots" i think it was.... some one suggested a vortec S/C. If you go that route..... you goning to have to run 8+ psi. buddies 91 gt aod, vert... is running stock 5psi and still gets raped by stock ls1. ran a 15.2 seconds, although the D.A. was 6100 that night. never the less, even on the street he gets pulled by atleast 3-5 cars, going up to 100 or so.

my 302 with a pretty mild HCI combo hangs pretty well. I ran a full bolt-on 04 M6 GTO and he woulda had me by 1 car from 65 to 95 if he hadnt missed a shift(dead even with him crawling on me as it was). As far as HCI being enough, 4.10's + AFR heads + a custom cam + a good tune and full exhaust should kill a stock LS1.

PS, a 91 AOD Vert is about the most horrid platform to try to make fast.

I've had two 5.0 5spd GTs and my 1989 GT went 12.9s with out of the box Edelbrock Performer heads and intake with a mild cam, headers/exhaust, pullies and 3.55s out back (also a lot of little cheap supporting mods). So "yes", you could hang with or beat a stock LS1 no problem. I wouldn't run much past 110 mph, tho..

Right on. Yeah, I don't know what it is, but around here, people like 5.0's.
It's all about looks. People think that generally Camaros or Trans Ams are ugly. I like both. I guess production numbers speak for themselves.

i dont thimk h/c/i will be enough to "beat" a stock ls1 especially if its an m6 car or has most of the bolt ons.

"Most of the bolt-ons" disqualifies it from being stock...

Most guys also consider that NOT "most of the bolt-ons" lol. "Most of the bolt ons" means exhaust, LT's, lid, MAF, TB bypass, free ram air, pullies, ported TB, etc.

Matters what HCI you use. Mine ran a 12.5. (trickflow kit) My sig is a bit outdated.
