LT1 intake, exhaust vs 350z
sorry im asking this as a question because i want to see where i would stand against an LT1 that wants to run me for money.
to start off its an LT1 camaro with an intake and exhaust and 6 speed. the 350z is stock with a 6 speed also. how would these cars go about in a race would it be a drivers race or would the LT1 take the win?
thanks a lot

Stop bench racing. Get out there and have some fun by actually

out for the cops.
Please...don't post any more "what would happen" threads. The number
of them currently is getting close to out-weighing the actual kills.

They really need to make a hypothetical race board or drop the "no what ifs" junk, these posts are not going to go away... It is just too common a practice to have what if racing posts in kill sections on boards all over the net, its unreasonable to expect everyone to not do the same here and not even give an alternative section or something. I for one think they're often interesting to discuss too...
Anyway, I would think a properly running, well driven intake/exhaust 6spd LT1 would beat your average stock 6spd 350Z. The LT1 should be making 20-30+ more rwhp at least and more torque while weight and gearing are fairly similar. But as with any race that is going to be remotely close the drivers can make all the difference.

The cars are very close and it comes down to the driver so just race (but don't race for money)

im sorry for posting this if it helps ill post my kill. i was just asking because you guys on this site seem more knowledgable then others so i came here in search of true answers. i actually dont own an LT1 6 speed. I own an 1989 firebird 5.0tbi auto with nitrous. but the kid with the LT1 wants to race me for money and i raced a stock 350z and wanted to know how id do. the LT1 has a catback and the driver isnt all that great from what i know he just got his license a few months back.
anyways i raced a stock 350z 6 speed with my juiced LO3 on saturday night. we went from a 40mph roll and right away i jumped on his car so he was at my rear bumper. all the way until 110 he just stayed at my rear bumper and didnt move neither of us could pull any on each other. fun race none the less. im very impressed with my little 305. and sorry i forgot to say the 350z guy knew how to drive real good.
again sorry guys for asking who would win normally i wouldnt but its for money and all sorry

If you ran dead even w/ the 350Z like it sounds since it appears you got the jump to get out a car length and then didn't pull any the rest of the race, I would expect a decently driven intake/exhaust LT1 to pull you. Especially if by exhaust you mean more than just a catback... Who knows, probably be close.

LT1 from a Roll or a Dig
I fucked up 3 different ones, 2 were 6speed the other was auto when my car was running. I put 2-3 cars on them each time, roll or a stop.
Bone stock, I just had no cat that is it, stock paper air filter

I have a 95 TA and I pulled 2 cars from a stop light to 80 on a 350 when my car was bone stock down to the filter. My car had only 40,000 miles on it at the time. I was not impressed with the Z.

If it helps any I saw a 350z dyno 239whp and a very close to stock lt1 (i think he just had an exhaust and something to tune with) dyno 265whp around. I believe the guy from bristol dyno said the lt1's usually dyno around 255 bone stock.

well me and the 350 both jumped at the same time but i pulled ahead instantly and stayed. the Lt1 is a 6 speed and only has a catback. if i were to race him itd be from a roll so i dont spin

We have a 350Z in our Car Club That a member just purchased a month or so back he traded a SRT-4 that was running 13.1s and now his 32,000 investment ran a 14.4 at the track in stock trim. I have to laugh because now he has to stick a pile of cash into this just to get it somewhat street worthy. Nice rides but hat is about it.IMO
