00'Z vs LT1 WS6
So where hanging out at a local meet and this kid asks me if i wanna run, says he has a stock auto 00' Z with only a lid and 2.73 gears. Says he doesnt want to go from a dig cause im on et streets. So we agree a 30 and 60 roll. 1st run..Till 70 i put 1/2 car on him, when we shut down at 120 im on his back bumper. 2nd run..door to door till 80, we shut down at 120 and im at his bumper again. Now iv ran plenty of other 6 speed lid, catback camaros and birds that iv beaten or had the same outcome with i just dont see how stock the Z can run so strong.

The car i ran was an auto with 2.73. I said that i have ran other m6 cars and had pretty much the same outcome. Iv even ran autos with the 3.23 gears and beat them and they had some good bolts on like longtubes, ls6 intake, tuned. I figured with the 2.73 gears it would be a dog but seemed like it only helped!

Man he pulled the sleeper on you nicely..had you really puzzled..
I put a stock LS6 cam in my stock corvette at one point...Idled just like stock but had around 20 more rwhp..Was only good for 2 tenths in my 2.73 geared auto C5 at the strip..
But hey at the strip 2 tenths is actually a big differance.
Nicely done on the 00Z's part...Thats how racin is suppossed to be.

my buddy's 2000 a4 bone stock trapped 107 stock with 135,000 miles on it.
you would've been real upset had you ran into him. he went 13.0s all day long at the track on stock tires, paper filter, EVERYTHING BONE STOCK. it's a full-weight b4c car. very very impressive. bear in mind this was in central indiana with a DA of ~2,500'.
now it has 160k on it and a few more knocks and a LOT of coolant consumption. still goes 13.2 @ 105 on 17x11 ZR1s.
